Bayman Liquor and the Cotter Area Chamber of Commerce Unveil First Branding Collaboration at Cotter Gateway

COTTER, Ark. — Bayman Liquor and the Cotter Area Chamber of Commerce have announced a new community collaboration featuring a freshly painted exterior at the Bayman building on the corner of 62B and Harding Boulevard, designed to reflect the Cotter brand and celebrate the River District.

The building stands at a key entrance to Cotter and serves as a visible marker directing residents and visitors toward the River District in downtown Cotter.

The project is the first collaboration between the Cotter Branding Team and a local business, creating a new model for public-facing partnerships that reinforces community identity and promotes local destinations.

The artwork was painted by Dennis Windell and highlights Cotter’s visual identity in a highly trafficked location near downtown.

Owners Bob and Kriss Yunker are thrilled to have a partnership with Cotter. “This collaboration is a meaningful way for Bayman Liquor to invest in Cotter’s identity and support the continued visibility of the River District at one of the city’s main entrances” said Kriss Yunker.

“The goal of the artwork was to create something distinctive, welcoming, and true to the Cotter brand while giving visitors a clear visual cue that they are arriving somewhere special” said artist Dennis Windell. Dennis, along with the Cotter Brand’s lead graphic artist, Tim Rails, worked closely with Kriss and her team to highlight Bayman’s new logo and its connection to the Cotter brand.

Chamber leaders said the collaboration demonstrates how local businesses can help strengthen Cotter’s sense of place while welcoming travelers into the community.

Bayman Liquor is located at 1529 West Main Street in Cotter.

Fred the First Fish of Cotter is absolutely flipping his fins in approval. This is historic. This is legendary. This is the kind of catch they'll talk about at the riverbank for generations. Trout Trail is truly becoming a reality! Dana secured a generous donation from Chris at Lowe's covering all the paint needed to bring Fred to life. Weather permitting, Dana plans to be on-site, this week so plan to drive by and see Fred come alive! Thank you Tim Rails for the first-stroke photos, and to Sylvia Berringer for the third photo showing Dana's progress.

✨🐟With the launch of The Trout Tank at Outside The Box, we are honored to introduce our very first entrepreneur grant: The Lift One, Change One Award!✨

A new annual award honoring the courage and creativity of rural entrepreneurs has been established in memory of Martin “Marty” Pereira, a respected West Plains, Missouri gunsmith and lifelong small‑business owner who passed away in 2003 after a battle with esophageal cancer. The Lift One, Change One Award will be presented each year to a local entrepreneur who demonstrates resilience, innovation, and a commitment to strengthening their community.

The award was created by Marty’s daughter, Ang Pereira, a mental health therapist and angel investor who supports early‑stage rural entrepreneurs. Pereira describes the award as a tribute not only to her father’s craftsmanship, but also to his belief that helping one person at a time can create lasting change.

“Small businesses are built with care, intention, and grit — the same qualities my father lived every day,” Pereira said. “He believed deeply in the Starfish Story: that helping one person does make a difference. This award carries that spirit forward.”

The Lift One, Change One Award will recognize entrepreneurs who think differently, build differently, and solve problems with both imagination and determination. It is designed to highlight the innovators who are shaping the future of rural communities through courage, creativity, and out‑of‑the‑box thinking. The inaugural award will be presented this year, marking the beginning of a tradition that celebrates the impact of small business owners and honors the legacy of a man whose life embodied craftsmanship, generosity, and the belief that lifting one person can change everything.

The Lift One, Change One Award will be presented each year during National Small Business Week, with this year’s inaugural award going to one of the new businesses launching through Outside The Box.

We are incredibly honored and grateful to Ang for her contribution and for believing in the importance of investing in and supporting entrepreneurs. Her generosity and vision will help encourage new ideas, support small business dreams, and create lasting impact within our community!
