Oregon Institute for A Better Way Institute designed to explore new ways for sustainable avenues towards viable opportunity A Family Awakening
What does it mean today to awaken? US. We jumped!

To us it… in 2010 one of us had a powerful dream “an experience” that left an impression that something was changing. One by one, we each had an affirmation of our impending changes. It translated to us as a blossoming, an awakening from a deep sleep. The deep sleep seemed simply connected to our ability to pay attention. First, to our own body; we were mostly over weight, malnourished and ignoran

t as to how to escape. We learned about detox from convenience, processed foods, pharmaceuticals and even technology. Second, to connection and synchronicity around us; 2013 we left our city house and embarked on a grand adventure. We let go, dropped out and learned to go with the flow. Not knowing what to do first to sustain ourselves, we went to work learning what our level of consumption was. We moved into a fully self-contained camper and went on the road sharing our excitement to change. We experienced our consumption of water, energy and especially waste. We evaluated as family, how we could minimize and utilize our consumption and waste. We prepared ourselves to learn. We woke up our brains and opened our minds up with actual meditation, long hikes, fresh air, earth minerals, family breakthroughs and ultimately service to others. We held our breathe, harnessed faith and wore our courage! We created a not-for-profit idea to share our story, the story of others living alternative to our programmed ideas. We focused on empowering others to have courage to breakout of conformed living and return to the gardens! Now we have began our families next generation of free and wild beings! We have become stewards of spaces to practice living alternative to what we have known. We gather with others, form groups of like minds to create space that thrive. Now that is a process worth watching. A process of progress related to the study of Cultural Anthropology because surly this is an evolutionary process we are watching unfold.

Important Update from the Oregon Institute For A Better Way

🔹 Urgent Advocacy for Affordable Broadband 🔹

We’re excited to share a significant development in the quest for universal internet access! Rep. Susan Wild, representing the spirit of community and progress, has taken a pivotal step by sending a letter to Congressional leadership. This letter, supported by over 70 colleagues, advocates for the continuation of funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).

Key Highlights:

• The ACP, part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, offers crucial broadband subsidies.
• It currently aids over 36,584 households in PA-07 and more than 21 million nationwide.
• This program is a lifeline for many, ensuring access to high-speed, affordable internet.

Why It Matters:

• Internet access is no longer a luxury; it’s a necessity for thriving in the 21st-century economy.
• The looming risk of the ACP running out of funds in early 2024 puts millions at risk of losing this essential service.

📢 Our Stance:
At the Oregon Institute For A Better Way, we believe in equitable access to technology for all. We stand with Congresswoman Wild in her commitment to expanding access to high-speed, affordable broadband. This aligns with our mission to foster a more connected, informed, and empowered community.

Urgent Update from Oregon Institute for a Better Way & Community System Navigators

As proud partners with the FCC's Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), we're at the forefront of empowering communities and businesses across the nation. But time is ticking!

The ACP Extension Bill, crucial for continuing discounted internet access, is now in Congress. With funding on the line, the program could end as soon as APRIL if congress has not passed the extension.

What's at Stake?
- Currently, 23+ million households risk being disconnected or will face finical hardship. But did you know 50 million households are automatically eligible? $30 off their monthly internet bill has helped millions get connected to many resources including telemedicine, employment and education.
- The ACP has not only eased financial burdens but spurred economic growth. Imagine the impact if it reaches its full potential!

Act Before Feb 7th!
- Enrollment will end 2/7/24 11:59pm ETA If you're eligible, don't miss out on this opportunity. Enroll now.
- Share this with opportunity with your community. Your participation could encourage Congress to extend this vital program.

Let's amplify our collective voice. Together, we can secure a brighter, more connected future for all.

Urgent Update from the FCC: AFFORDABLE CONNECTIVITY PROGRAM TO END SOON BARRING
CONGRESSIONAL ACTION

Washington, D.C.— Today, a letter signed by a bipartisan group of 174 mayors was sent to congressional leaders urging them to quickly pass legislation to extend the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP).Without urgent appropriations by Congress, the program will soon come to an end, threatening access to the internet for the 23 million lower-income households that currently rely on the ACP.

This program, which has been a lifeline for many families in accessing jobs, education, and healthcare through the internet, is facing a funding cliff. Without new appropriations, the ACP will only have funds until April 2024, with limited support in May.

FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel emphasized the success of the ACP and the critical need to continue it. She mentioned a glimmer of hope: the bipartisan Affordable Connectivity Program Extension Act introduced in Congress, proposing an additional $7 billion for the ACP.

As we approach the deadline to enroll, February 7, 11:59pm ET, broadband providers will start notifying subscribers about the potential end of the ACP and its impact on their internet bills.

Stay informed and spread the word to ensure the millions of households relying on the ACP are prepared for these changes. Disconnecting millions of families from their jobs, schools, markets, and information is not the solution. Let’s hope for positive congressional action to continue this historic broadband affordability program.
