Let’s Join Forces and Fight for Mental Health

Fight for Mental Health has been working to help people using mostly our own personal funds. We have provided warmth, clothing, food, youth day camps, outreach, and other support wherever we could.

But we have reached the point where we know we can do so much more with community and business support, and we need you.

PROJECT 1: REDUCE FOOD WASTE

Our goal is to reduce food waste at the food-pantry level through freeze-drying.

Foods that may otherwise spoil can be freeze-dried into lightweight, shelf-stable meals that can be stored and distributed to people in need. Many meals can be prepared simply by adding water.

We are looking for businesses willing to support an upcoming fundraiser by donating:

• Raffle prizes
• Promotional items
• Coupons or gift certificates
• Products or services that can be included with raffle prizes

Every contribution helps us raise funds for equipment and programs designed to reduce food waste and help more people.

PROJECT 2: BOTTLE & CAN COLLECTION FOR SUSTAINABILITY

We are also building a bottle and can collection program that creates another win for the community.

We want to help independent contractors and people needing additional income opportunities participate in collecting returnable bottles and cans and taking them to recycling.

Businesses, offices, and community members can participate by saving their returnable bottles and cans for Fight for Mental Health.

Our collection team can pick up approximately 2–3 bags at a time from participating offices and businesses. Those returns can then help provide sustainable funding for our growing 501(c)(3) nonprofit while also creating income opportunities for people helping with the collections.

WHY WE STARTED

This mission began after we lost my nephew, Little Freddy Jr., our rock star.

Out of that loss came a promise: to help others, keep growing, and reach as many people as we can.

Our long-term goal is to obtain a property where we can provide work-skills training, life-skills development, education, wellness programs, customized work opportunities, and job-placement assistance.

Not everyone succeeds under the same schedule or in the same environment. We want to help people develop the skills they need, create work schedules they can realistically handle, build confidence and independence, and eventually connect them with jobs where they can succeed.

Together, we can turn things that are being wasted into resources, opportunities, skills, and hope.
