Second Chance Heroes Update
After a lot of thought and reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to pause the work of Second Chance Heroes effective at the end of January.
Over the past year, it’s become clear how challenging it is to secure sustainable funding and partnerships—especially for a nonprofit serving vulnerable populations through military-adjacent pathways. As we expanded our mission and pathways, the resources needed to truly help people change their lives became harder to secure at the level required to do this work the right way.
Rather than continue to spend the nonprofit’s funds on efforts that aren’t yet producing the impact we envisioned, I believe the responsible choice is to pause, reassess, and strategize. This time will be used to rethink our approach, strengthen our foundation, and pursue the partnerships necessary to carry this mission across the finish line.
I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has supported Second Chance Heroes, and I truly hope you’ll remain part of our community when we’re ready to resume.
This isn’t an ending—it’s a reset.
