Down Syndrome/Alzheimer's and the impact on our community
MEETING via Zoom with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA)

We NEED to hear from you!
All parents, caregivers and those that have stories to share that could be impactful and help inform future regulatory policies to better reflect the unique challenges that Alzheimer's disease has on our community.

NDSS is hosting an Externally-Led Patient Focused Drug Development (EL-PFDD) meeting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on June 2, 2026, at 10 a.m. ET, about Down syndrome-associated Alzheimer’s disease (DS-AD).

The goal of the virtual meeting is to show the FDA and other decision makers how DS-AD impacts the lives of adults with Down syndrome and their families. Topics include the symptoms of DS-AD, individual experiences with available treatments, and hopes for future therapies. The insights shared during the PFDD meeting will help inform future regulatory policies to better reflect the unique challenges that Alzheimer’s disease has on our community.

Huge THANKS to everyone that were able to support last week's Empowering Possibilities online Giving Day hosted by Orange County Community Foundation. Together, all 9 organizations combined raised a total of $197,248 to support individuals with disabilities throughout Orange County. Those of you that supported DSAOC directly helped us raise $16,174. We are grateful for you!
