🐾 BABY GIRL UPDATE #1: It Takes a Village ❤️

Sometimes rescue starts with one person simply choosing to help.

Nine days ago, a young boy found this sweet girl tied to a signpost across the street from his home. He and the neighborhood kids untied her, brought her to his grandmother, and gave her the nickname “Baby Girl.” ❤️

A neighbor later shared that they had seen an unhoused couple tie her there and leave. When no one returned for her, the family stepped in. For the next nine days, she made sure Baby Girl had food, shade and a safe place in the garage at night while trying to figure out what to do next.

With dogs of her own, they knew she couldn’t permanently take on another, but she refused to give up on her. She even walked Baby Girl to local pet stores looking for help and to have her scanned for a microchip. Sadly, no chip was found.

That’s when A Home 4 Ever Rescue agreed to help. 🐾

Baby Girl is now in our care and beginning the next chapter of her story. She is around 43–45 pounds, underweight but strong, incredibly sweet, treat-motivated and gentle. She appears to have had puppies in the past, and right now our priority is getting her healthy, comfortable and learning more about the girl underneath everything she’s been through. We guess that she will need to be living at the at our kennels recovering for the next month at least.

We’ll be sharing updates on Baby Girl’s journey, from her medical care and recovery to watching her personality come out as she realizes she is finally safe.

And to Teresa and her grandson: thank you for being the good Samaritans who stopped, cared and refused to look the other way. Because you stepped up, Baby Girl gets a chance at a completely different life.

Meet Diesel 🐾

This sweet boy was found on the streets with his brother, Hogan. Thanks to being rescued, he’s now thriving and ready to find the loving family he deserves! Diesel is estimated to have been born at the end of April and expected to grow into a big, handsome boy—likely a Pit Bull mix. 🐶 He’s a little more shy than his brother at first, but he’s incredibly sweet, friendly, and loves everyone he meets. Diesel enjoys playing with other dogs and gets along well with cats, too! Now all this sweet boy needs is a family to love him forever.

Meet Chato 🐾

Chato is a 3-year-old, 27-pound pup with a unique look—we think he may be a Pomeranian/Shiba Inu mix! When he first came into our care, he was a bit nervous and unsure, but he’s already starting to come out of his shell and show his true personality. This sweet boy is playful, loving, and does well with other dogs. Once he feels comfortable, Chato really shines and becomes an affectionate companion who enjoys being around his people. Chato would do best with a confident owner who can provide guidance, patience, and reassurance as he continues to build his confidence. With the right home, he will continue to blossom into an amazing, loyal dog. If you’re looking for a special pup to grow with and love, Chato might be your perfect match!

Meet Crosby 🐾

Crosby is a 7-year-old Chihuahua with a heart full of love and a gentle spirit. This sweet little guy loves going for walks, spending time with his humans, and making new furry friends—he gets along well with other dogs!

Crosby can be a little shy when you first meet him, but with a few treats, a little patience, and lots of kindness, he’ll quickly come out of his shell. Once he trusts you, he’ll be your loyal companion and forever best friend.

Thanks to being rescued, he’s now thriving and ready to find the loving family he deserves. Estimated to have been born at the end of April, Hogan is expected to grow into a large dog, likely a Pit Bull mix. At only 13 weeks already, he’s going to be a big, handsome boy! Hogan is incredibly friendly and loves everyone he meets. He enjoys playing with other dogs, gets along well with cats, and has the most stunning blue eyes that are sure to steal your heart.
