New Directions For Women

New Directions For Women Women, women with children and pregnant women are welcome at our nationally recognized, certified, oldest gender-specific addiction treatment center in OC.

New Directions for Women is a gender-specific facility exclusively for women suffering from drug and alcohol abuse, chemical dependency, and other addictive disorders. We offer addiction detox and rehab services for women, pregnant women, and women with children. We believe that all women deserve care despite their ability to pay for treatment. Every woman and child who comes through our doors rec

eives some amount of scholarship funds. Our aim is to raise half a million dollars a year, which goes directly to the Pamela Wilder Scholarship Fund to ensure more women and their children are able to receive the quality treatment they need. By providing exceptional, gender-separate and specific addiction treatment services that are grounded in 12-Step principles, New Directions for Women assists women, families and their children to achieve sustained responsible recovery from addiction.

We are incredibly grateful to Jaime and the team at Don Churros Gomez for their generosity in treating the women of New Directions for Women to some absolutely delicious churros!

The girls loved getting out of their usual routine and enjoying such a special treat together. From the warm hospitality to the spectacular menu, every bite was amazing. It may seem like a small gesture, but experiences like these bring joy, connection, and a sense of community to the women we serve.

What makes Don Churros even more special is its rich history. The Gomez family’s churro recipe dates back more than 50 years to Yahualica, Jalisco, Mexico, where their grandparents first began making churros in 1969. They brought that generations-old family recipe to Orange County and have continued sharing their authentic, handcrafted churros with the community ever since.

If you’re in Orange County, do yourself a favor and stop by Don Churros! Whether you’re craving a sweet treat, looking for a unique dessert spot, or wanting to support a wonderful local family-owned business, it’s a must-visit.

Thank you again, Jaime, for making the girls’ day a little brighter. Your kindness and generosity mean more than you know. ❤️

We want to extend a very heartfelt thank you to this incredible group for choosing New Directions for Women as the beneficiary of their Hope Starts Here event. 🤍

This amazing community came together with compassion, generosity, and purpose to create essential care kits for the women at NDFW — assembling more than 56 bags in under 3 hours!

Not only did they pour their time and love into supporting our clients, but through their dedication and generosity, they also raised an incredible $39,000 to support the life-changing work happening at New Directions for Women.
To everyone who donated, shared, volunteered, attended, and encouraged this mission — we sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity and support help continue the mission of NDFW by providing women and their families with the opportunity to recover, rebuild, and begin a new path toward healing.

We are beyond grateful for every person who played a part in making this event so meaningful. Your kindness is a powerful reminder that hope truly does start here. ✨

At New Directions for Women, we believe the people behind our mission matter just as much as the mission itself — and we are honored to introduce our new CFO, Ann Levine. 🤍

Ann has dedicated more than 30 years of her career to the intersection of behavioral health, housing advocacy, trauma recovery, and supporting women in need. From providing free legal services in San Francisco’s Tenderloin during law school to advocating for the rights of individuals with mental health disabilities, her work has always been deeply personal and purpose-driven.

As someone who experienced instability, mental health struggles, and addiction within her own family, Ann understands firsthand the importance of safe spaces for healing, recovery, and connection. She shared that what resonates most about New Directions for Women is our commitment to helping women and mothers heal together — surrounded by community, compassion, and support.

Ann is also deeply passionate about championing female leadership, saying:
“I don’t ever want another awesome woman to feel isolated. I want her to know that I’m there as her champion, her cheerleader, and the voice of encouragement.”

We are incredibly grateful to welcome such a compassionate, brilliant, and mission-driven leader to the NDFW family. Please join us in welcoming Ann to New Directions for Women! ✨

What an unforgettable morning at our annual Circle of Life Gala benefiting New Directions for Women on May 7th. Because of the incredible generosity of our community, we proudly reached our $225,000 fundraising goal — helping provide life-changing recovery care, hope, and healing for women and families across generations.

Our hearts are especially full of gratitude for every person who showed up in support of this mission. To those who attended, donated, sponsored, volunteered, shared our story, and stood beside us as longtime supporters of New Directions for Women — thank you. Your unwavering belief in recovery and healing has helped shape the legacy of this organization for decades, and we simply could not do this work without you.

It was so meaningful to reconnect with familiar faces who have walked alongside us for years, while also welcoming new members into our community who are now part of this mission and legacy. Together, we celebrated the powerful truth that generational healing through recovery is possible.

As we prepare to celebrate 50 YEARS of New Directions for Women next year, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the love, commitment, and support that continue to carry this mission forward. The impact of your generosity reaches far beyond one evening — it changes lives, restores families, and creates hope for generations to come.

Today our team had the honor of picking up an incredibly special donation from the Costa Mesa Senior Center Quilt Club.🩷

These amazing women lovingly handmade and donated 25 quilts for the women and children at New Directions for Women, along with 8 handmade stuffed animals for our littlest clients. Every stitch carries warmth, comfort, and care and we know these gifts will mean so much to the families we serve.

There is something so powerful about women showing up for other women across generations. Acts of kindness like this remind our clients that they are seen, valued, and deserving of love and comfort during their healing journey.

We are beyond grateful to the Quilt Club for pouring so much heart into these beautiful creations. Thank you for helping create safety, connection, and hope for the families in our care. ✨

Recovery is more than abstinence — it’s healing the whole woman. 🤍

Our 2025 Outcomes Report highlights the real impact of long-term, gender-specific treatment and the lives changed through recovery at New Directions for Women.

Here’s a glimpse at the data:
✨ 121 women remained in active recovery one full year after treatment
✨ Family relationships rated “good” or “excellent” increased from 28% at intake to 88% one year later
✨ Women who stayed in treatment longer experienced significantly stronger long-term sobriety outcomes
✨ NDFW exceeded industry abstinence benchmarks at every measured interval
✨ Depression symptoms dropped dramatically from intake through post-treatment follow-up

Behind every percentage is a woman reclaiming her life, reconnecting with loved ones, rebuilding confidence, and creating a future she once thought was out of reach.
Recovery is not one-size-fits-all — and healing takes time. We are honored to walk alongside women through every chapter of that journey. 🤍

Swipe through to explore the full story behind the data.
