The Asian Aunties is a service group that supports women and minorities through food, from providing meals to raising funds to nourish those in need. Fo
unded over lunch by three friends, Anita, Marcie, and Oakley, the Asian Aunties share a passion for food and a desire to make a difference. We believe that food is a powerful language of love and nourishment, and we are dedicated to using our culinary passion and professional skills to help others. Since our inception in June 2021, we have raised nearly $5,500 in monetary support and almost $4,000 in donated goods and services to provide 1,609 meals to women experiencing homelessness at WISEPlace in Santa Ana. As we are now exploring new and innovative ways to continue to make a positive impact in our communities through food. What sets the Asian Aunties apart is our diverse backgrounds and perspectives. As immigrants in America, we bring different nationalities and cultural influences to the table. Food has always played a significant role in our lives, not only as sustenance but also as a means of connection and love. In Asian cultures, sharing meals is a way to express friendship, kindness, and care. While our name may suggest otherwise, anyone is welcome to join us! Together, we can create a community that uplifts and supports one another, one meal at a time.
