Twenty five years later, we still remember where we were, what we felt, and the lives that were forever changed. 2,977 lives lost. Countless families changed forever. A nation that will always remember.

This Labor Day, we honor the people whose work makes a difference in the lives of others. 💗

To the physicians, nurses, technologists, researchers, patient navigators, and countless professionals dedicated to breast cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, and survivorship, we are grateful for the work you do every day.

We also honor our first responders, healthcare workers, and all those who show up for their communities with skill, compassion, and commitment.

At The Pink Journey Foundation, we know that healthier communities are built by people who care enough to do the work. We are incredibly thankful for each of you.

We’re excited to share that Melanie Lewis, Executive Director of The Pink Journey Foundation, will be a featured panelist at the 3rd Annual Healthy Desert, Healthy You Health Summit!

Melanie will join healthcare leaders to discuss “Beyond the Clinic: Mobile and Community-Based Care,” sharing how bringing healthcare directly into communities can improve access, remove barriers, and save lives.

There are some women who lead… and then there are women who change lives. 💫

Today, we celebrate our incredible Executive Director, Melanie Lewis, who has been recognized as one of Orange County’s most influential women—an honor so deeply deserved. 🍊

Through her leadership, vision, and unwavering compassion, Melanie has opened doors for women who might have otherwise gone without care. Through the Rolling With Hope program, she has helped provide free mammograms to those who need them most, turning fear into action, uncertainty into answers, and, for so many, saving lives.

This recognition reflects what we already know in our hearts. Melanie is a force for good, a champion for women, and a true difference-maker in our community.

Her work reaches far beyond numbers. It reaches into families, into futures, and into the quiet moments where a woman feels seen, supported, and not alone.

Another weekend. Another 70 women served. 💗

This weekend, 70 FREE mammograms were provided to women in the Coachella Valley — because early detection should never depend on zip code, insurance status, or income.

We are incredibly grateful to our partners at the Desert Healthcare District & Foundation for standing beside us in this mission. When community organizations come together with one shared purpose — lives are changed.

A special thank you to Alejandro Espinoza from Desert Healthcare District & Foundation for your leadership and commitment to health equity in our region.

And to Dr. Ida Obeso Martinez, Doctor of Nursing Practice and Candidate for Assembly District 36 — thank you for showing up, advocating for women’s health, and believing in prevention, education, and access for all.
