On Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country — and we hold space for the families and communities who carry their legacy forward.

At Hidden Truths Project, we believe in the power of art to reveal, to heal, and to connect us. As we remember those who served, we are reminded of the courage, resilience, and humanity at the heart of every story.

May we move through today with reflection, compassion, and appreciation for those who sacrificed so much.

NEW WORKSHOP! 🐝 Mindful Photography for Joy, Awe & Gratitude
Tuesday, June 9 | 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM PST

On National Bee Day, we’re reminded of something simple yet powerful: when we slow down and pay attention, there is wonder everywhere.

Bees move through the world with purpose—pausing, noticing, gathering. What if we did the same?

Join the Hidden Truths Project community for a 90-minute immersive online workshop exploring mindful photography as a pathway to joy, awe, and gratitude. From wherever you are—by a window, in your home, or from your seat—you’ll be guided to tune into your surroundings and capture small, meaningful moments of beauty.

Led by Alison Beaumont, Artist & Therapeutic Photography Practitioner, this session invites you to:
• Slow down and notice the extraordinary in the everyday
• Engage in guided exercises that spark curiosity and reflection
• Use your phone or camera to capture moments of wonder
• Connect and share with a supportive community

Research shows that intentionally seeking awe can significantly increase feelings of joy, gratitude, and compassion.

No photography experience needed—just curiosity.

The workshop is free and held on Zoom.

Earth Day Artist Spotlight: George Beauchemin

Today, on Earth Day, we honor the deep connection between creativity, nature, and the lived experiences of artists touched by epilepsy.

This month, we’re proud to spotlight George Beauchemin, an artist whose life—and art—has been shaped by epilepsy. George transforms reclaimed wood into powerful sculptures that carry both environmental meaning and personal truth.

In his own words:
“I have always had a deep love for nature, especially trees, and for how we can use them for more than just firewood. I feel a strong connection to trees and to the process of saving them from landfills or being burned. Turning them into something meaningful brings joy to me and to others. My sculptures are inspired by epilepsy.”

George’s work reminds us that healing, resilience, and environmental stewardship often grow from the same roots—care, intention, and transformation.

At Hidden Truths Project, our mission is to demystify epilepsy and improve the quality of life for individuals, families, and caregivers. Artists like George help us do that by sharing their lived experiences through art that sparks conversation, compassion, and understanding.

Explore George’s artist statement and view his sculptures on our website. www.hiddentruthsproject.com

Let’s celebrate Earth Day by honoring the artists who transform what’s overlooked—whether it’s reclaimed wood or the hidden disability of epilepsy—into something seen, valued, and deeply human.
