The Wings Programs, Inc. The Wings Programs Inc. is a 501c3 Non-Profit corp. dedicated to various equine welfare programs inc Wings Programs Inc.

is a GFAS (Global Federations of Animal Sanctuaries) verified equine rescue and sanctuary. Horses in our care receive rehabilitation for physical and emotional problems, and training as necessary to be able to transition into a new permanent home. Some of our horses are sanctuary horses, meaning they are not available for adoption for various reasons including age or health. These horses participate in Equine Assisted Programs including Life Skills, Equine Assisted Growth and Learning, youth and Veterans programs. Wings also administers the Crimes Against Livestock Reward fund that helps raise reward funds to encourage information leading to the arrest of those committing livestock criminal activity.

❄️🐴 Montana winter is coming, and that means one thing at Wings Programs… HAY, HAY, and MORE HAY! 🌾

As we gear up for another cold Montana winter, we're working hard to make sure every horse, donkey, mule, and miniature resident at Wings has a warm, safe place to call home and plenty of hay to keep their bellies full!

Feeding an entire herd through a Montana winter is no small task, and we could really use our community's help! ❤️

🐴🍎 COME PREPARED! 😂🥕

One thing about the Wings residents… they ALL think you have treats in your pockets!

You can't walk around the property without a nose coming your way, a little nicker, or someone giving you the look that says, “Excuse me, where's my snack?” 😂

Our horses, minis, donkeys, and mules have the whole treat routine figured out!

🐴❤️ Meet the herd at Wings Programs!

Some of you may not know exactly what we do here at Wings, so we thought it would be fun to take you around the property and introduce you to some of the incredible animals who call Wings home!

From rescue and rehabilitation to lifelong sanctuary care, every animal here has a story, and we want to share those stories with YOU!

🐴 Meet Sugar & Coco! 🐴

These two adorable miniature horses came to Wings as owner surrenders after their previous owner experienced health issues and could no longer care for them.

🤍 Sugar is the one with a little extra white on her face, and Coco is her equally adorable companion!

When they arrived, both girls were significantly overweight and struggling with insulin resistance. They needed more than just a new home. They needed specialized diets, rehabilitation, and ongoing care to help them get back on track.

Today, Sugar and Coco are receiving the care they need right here at Wings! ❤️

For now, these sweet girls are sanctuary residents and are not available for adoption. Their health and well-being come first, and we're committed to giving them the time and care they deserve.

This is just one small part of what we do at Wings Programs. Not every animal who comes through our gates is ready for adoption, and some may need a safe place to call home for the rest of their lives.

Yesterday, we said goodbye to our sweet little cowgirl, Hope. 🤍 At 27 years old, Hope had been struggling with some age-related health issues. With the compassionate guidance of our dear friend and veterinarian, Dr. Kyle Kelly at Tammany Veterinary Hospital we made the difficult decision to let her go peacefully. Our sweet mini mare was so loved and will be deeply missed. Run free, Hope. 🌈🐴

🐴❤️ Facebook friends and followers, Wings Programs could really use your help!

Since moving to Stevensville this spring, we have welcomed and rehabilitated numerous equines in need. With every new intake comes the responsibility of making sure they receive the medical care they deserve, and right now, our vet bill is getting pretty high.

Our recent veterinary expenses include dental floats, treatment for eye infections, routine care, and other medical needs that often come with neglected, surrendered, or newly rescued equines.

We want to keep saying YES when an equine needs us, but we need your help to do that.

Even $5, $10, or $20 adds up and helps us chip away at this vet bill so we can continue providing proper care for the animals already with us while still having the ability to help the next one who needs a safe place to land. ❤️

Meet Julie, a 17-year-old Appy molly mule who was previously owned by an outfitter. Julie has experience as a pack mule, although she has not been packed in several years.

She is current on dental care, deworming and hoof trimming. Julie is easy to halter in the pasture, gets along well with other horses and has that classic mule opinion when it comes to dogs!

Julie is looking for an experienced mule owner who understands and appreciates mules and can provide her with the right home.

PLEASE DONATE. Two horses and a donkey came to Wings from the Flathead in rough shape. Their hooves were horribly overgrown, their coats were neglected, and they needed time, patience and consistent care.

Fast forward a few months at The Wings Programs, Inc. and you almost wouldn’t recognize them. ❤️

Healthy hooves. Healthier coats. Brighter eyes. Three animals finally getting the care they deserve.

This is why what we do is so important. Rescue isn’t always pretty. The transformations don’t happen overnight. It takes feed, farrier care, veterinary care, volunteers, hard work and a whole lot of love.

But then you look at them months later and remember exactly why you do it.

Sometimes it’s not pretty, but it is always worth it. 🐴❤️
