Theta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi

Theta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi We are the Theta Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity, based at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.

The Theta chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi first became active on May 12th, 1923 with the goal of stimulating campus leadership, sharing their passion for music with others, fostering close relationships with other college bands, encouraging band members to perform at the highest level, and providing a pleasant social experience for all band members. Our chapter was re-charted in 2009 and has been growing ever since. Two years ago, the Theta chapter is celebrating its 50th year as an active chapter.

Happy August, Bros & Beavs! We're so excited to be so close to starting the 2022-2023 school year, and wanted to share our excitement by introducing some of our awesome Chapter members!

Meet Nicole Breshears, one of our newest members from the Pi class!

"I'm double-majoring in Human Development & Family Sciences, along with Music Education. The oboe is my main instrument, but I play tenor saxophone in the marching band! I'm a section leader for the Oregon State University Marching Band, as well as the band manager! That means that I work with Olin Hannum, our director, to plan trips and other fun things that we do as a band! I'm just starting this job and I love it!

I joined KKPsi because of our amazing President. Reese also played tenor saxophone in marching band last year and made KKPsi sound really cool. So, I went to one of the recruitment events and was instantly brought into a group of people that I thought were amazing and that I'd like to get to know more! I was a transfer student this last year and didn't have any friends, and I knew that I'd make a ton if I joined Theta, so I agreed! It was 100% the truth; I have some amazing friends from this organization that I adore. We all have a deep love for music, and we share that with both each other as well as the people around us. I couldn't be happier with my decision."
