Third Grade Shelter Projects

Our third graders wrapped up the year by presenting their shelter projects! From igloos and earth homes to log cabins, treehouses, and even the International Space Station, students researched, wrote, and built detailed models that showcased their learning and creativity.

It was a joy to celebrate the students' dedication, creativity, and growing confidence as they shared their work.

There’s never a dull moment on campus when nature is part of the classroom.

Recently, our students and staff have been treated to some special wildlife sightings:
-A curious baby fox exploring the forest
-A majestic great blue heron visiting the field
-Several owls making themselves at home in the woodshop

These encounters remind us of the rich ecosystem that surrounds our school and the daily opportunities children have to observe, wonder, and connect with the natural world.

At Corvallis Waldorf School, nature isn't just something we study, it’s a living part of our community.

Have you spotted any wildlife on campus lately? Share your sightings with us in the comments!

A walk down memory lane.

Today, our alumni returned to the halls where their educational journey began, celebrating their high school graduation with a special Grad Walk. As they walked past classrooms filled with future graduates, they inspired the next generation to dream big and work hard.

Congratulations to all of the graduates! We are incredibly proud of your achievements and excited to see where your next chapter takes you.

Write into Art is a middle school elective where students explore the connection between language and visual expression. Through mixed-media projects and artistic experimentation, students transform words into imagery and ideas into original works of art.

We were thrilled to welcome back alums Noah and Marisol (Class of 2025) this week as CHS Advanced Theater students performed their original touring production, Wizards, Wits, & Royal Fits!

When a misguided Wizard kidnaps the Prince, Queen Dour sends her bravest Knight and cleverest Squire on a rescue mission that quickly spirals into chaos, comedy, and plenty of royal mayhem.

Our students loved the laughter, creativity, and energy these talented performers brought to campus. It’s always special to see alumni return and share their gifts with our community!

Ten years of growing, learning, and journeying together led to one final adventure.

Our 8th grade class recently completed a 7 day backpacking trip along the Ozette Triangle Trail in Washington. This was a meaningful culmination of their time together after spending the last decade side by side in the classroom and beyond. Through laughter, campfires, ocean views, and miles of trail, students experienced the beauty of living simply and supporting one another in nature.

This final field trip was more than a hike, it was a celebration of community, resilience, friendship, and the deep connection formed through years of shared experiences. We are so proud of all they accomplished together and can’t wait to see where their paths lead next.

Third grade students are deepening their writing and storytelling skills through descriptive and reflective writing.

In these pieces, students practiced organizing their thoughts, developing detailed sentences, and using vivid language to describe personal experiences and observations. From carefully explaining the changing light and texture inside a tunnel to reflecting on meaningful family memories along a river, students are learning how strong writing can paint a picture for the reader.

Through this work, third graders are building grammar, sequencing, observation, and storytelling skills while strengthening their confidence as writers and communicators.
