Today a home in our community that had been overtaken by mold was demolished. The resident who lived there suffered difficult health effects and was able to move on to a better living situation and is greatly improving there. We are really happy to see him thriving and make room for a new resident to join our community. Our dream is for every resident here to thrive!

A New Year Begins - This past week, we had both Sparrow homes receive new families into our mentorship program! These are a few shots of beds ready and made, gifts waiting and a fridge full of food so these families start the year supplied. Our homes are fully furnished with a fully stocked kitchen, bathroom, and all new bed sets and towels the family keep for themselves. Many thanks to the Hive church for supplying hands on support and finances to make this home ready. We are excited for these families! Hosting dinners where we share more deeply what we do here at Sparrow is a joy. We so appreciate every person who has supported us in different ways and this is one way we love to honor some of those people! Goodbye Wayne 🙏🙏💛 We are sad to announce our maintenance man Wayne recently stepped down from his position with Sparrow to retire. We miss him already, he brought so much fun and joy to our team that is irreplaceable. Blessings over Wayne as he shifts into a new season! Lawn care

Street cleaning

Flower bed maintenance

Miscellaneous odd jobs

Bonus Skills (Preferred but not required):

Plumbing

General maintenance

Small machine repair

Key Volunteer Opportunities This Year!

This coming year we are seeking volunteers to come along side us in serving and loving our people! If you are interested in any of these roles and looking for a meaningful way to invest in the lives of people, please reach out to us:

*Finance Mentor - Consistent Weekly Monday Evenings 4pm - 6pm - This person would meet with and mentor a family in our program in their finances. A piece of what we do to help families get off the streets is hold them accountable to the stewardship of their finances, building of new habits with the hope to plan for the future. At the end of our program, we desire families to find a home of their own and live sustainably.

*Photographer - Occasional Help - Occasionally we have projects or need for good pictures to use for promotional projects. It would be a gift to us for someone with a camera to donate their time on occasion to help us get good photos to support our growth and project development.

*Thursday Night Mentor - Consistent Weekly Thursday Nights 6pm - 8:30pm - This role would require a person who would be approved by our team to assist with one of our key evenings in our Sparrow ministries mentorship program. This mentor would work closely with men and women to aid in emotional healing and growth.
