Stone Soup Corvallis needs some Lead Cooks on Saturday mornings. If you have experience in commercial kitchens, time to volunteer, and passion to feed our hungry neighbors please contact us. The onboarding process is simple and we will support new Lead Cooks in assembling a reliable team.

Our Saturday Lead Cooks plan the menu, delegate tasks to other volunteers and make sure we can greet our diners with a hot and nutritious brunch.

We are always thankful for the support of our community, this time Power of 100+ Who Care Corvallis/Benton County has supplied us with nearly 13k (a few more checks have come in since this photo was taken) for ingredients to keep our meals going strong. Thank you!

Yesterday we gave our checks to Stone Soup Corvallis, Inc. We love supporting their mission of providing free, hot, nutritious meals 365 days a year, no questions asked, in a manner that honors the dignity of each person they serve in our diverse community.

We want to thank the Benton Community Foundation for awarding Stone Soup Corvallis, not one, but two grants! The first is for our new kitchen project. As we continue fundraising, local support for this project is so encouraging.

The second grant helps ensure that we can continue providing to-go meals for our diners. This is an important way that we honor the agency of our diners. We believe that people deserve to eat where they feel comfortable.

Dear Friends of Stone Soup Corvallis,

We are excited to share some important news with you.

Stone Soup Corvallis has signed a lease with the Corvallis Daytime Drop-In Center for a central kitchen site of our own! This has been a dream of ours for many years and we are both grateful and excited to begin making this dream a reality.

In the coming months, our goal is to renovate the space and transition all Stone Soup meal preparation and service to this site. While there is much work ahead, this marks a major milestone for our organization and for anyone in our community experiencing hunger. This project will enable Stone Soup to continue serving free meals for years to come.

While the kitchen is important, we know that it is the people who make Stone Soup what it is. We can continue to feed our community because of the dedication and hospitality of our volunteers and supporters. Thank you.

We will be creating opportunities for volunteers and diners to ask questions, share feedback, and help us think through how this new kitchen can best support both our diners and our volunteer teams. We know that change can be both exciting and daunting, so we want this process to be collaborative and inclusive.

One of our biggest next steps is fundraising. Based on our current estimates, the full project (including renovation, equipment, permits, and ongoing operational costs) is expected to cost approximately $600,000. Through years of planning and saving, Stone Soup has already set aside roughly $250,000 toward this effort. Along with grants and donations received so far, we have $330,495 still left to raise.

Every contribution, whether financial, practical, or connective helps move this project forward. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or input about this project at any point in time.

While planning and fundraising move ahead, our meal service Will continue at our two church locations as usual. We appreciate their continued hospitality. We will continue sharing updates as the project develops and more details become available.

We are excited for this next chapter and truly grateful to have you walking through it with us. Thank you for everything that you do for Stone Soup and for the people who we serve. Hunger continues to be a need in our community and the work of Stone Soup continues to meet that need with generosity and hope.

Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers and staff we served 171 meals at our Christmas Dinner. No one left hungry.

Special thanks to:
Garland Nursery, Home Grown Gardens, and New Morning Bakery for their donations that made our meal feel festive.

Dial-A-Bus of Benton County for transporting our guests to and from the meal.

The members of Beit Am for preparing and serving such an excellent meal.

Lastly, thank you to our community for the years of dedicated and generous support.

Hey folks! Don't forget, Stone Soup is serving Christmas Dinner to anyone who is hungry in our community at 5:30 PM Christmas Day. Those who need a ride to dinner can catch Dial-A-Bus at the park by the library starting about 5 PM.

It's Giving Tuesday! Thanks to the on-going support of our community and the dedication of our volunteers and staff, we were able to serve 192 meals at our Thanksgiving Meal last Thursday. We serve hearty meals every day of the year. As we approach the end of the year, will you consider joining Stone Soup in feeding our hungry neighbors by making a donation?
