The Corvallis Folklore Society (CFS) is a non-profit community organization dedicated to preserving, teaching, promoting and encouraging the performance of traditional music, dance, arts, song and other folk expression. We also strive to cooperate with other community organizations and individuals to foster that goal. The CFS is run by a board of volunteers meeting five times a year to discuss and

revise organizational business. Folklore Society Events:

Concert Series – Features a wide variety of national and international solo acts and bands. Best Cellar – Corvallis’ oldest continuing folk event features performances by regional musicians in an intimate coffee house setting. House Concerts – Small, cozy concerts at local homes irregularly feature traveling artists and local talent. Song Circles – Second and fourth Sundays, this informal music and song space is a great way to share space with locals, or just listen in. Contra Dances – First and third Saturdays of each month, plus special events. No partner or experience needed. Contra Dance Weekend – February in-town dance weekend with two bands, two callers; a vibrant community experience with home stays and potlucks. Hoolyeh International Folk Dances –First & Third Sundays each month, join in international folk dances with regional styles and themes. See www.hoolyeh.com .
