Your presence can help a shy cat learn to trust, give a lonely cat companionship, and help prepare them for the family they’ve been waiting for!

You don’t have to do everything. You just have to show up.

Dewitt PetSmart: We have two handsome, really sweet, playful and young male residents.

Gouda (gray) is a little over 4 months old and has easily adjusted to befriending other cats. He loved the 20 pound dog at his foster home.

Reggie (orange) is around 8 months old. This mellow guy didn’t seem to be feeling 100% when he arrived, but has been out with the other cats today. He seems to be more himself and has been crying for some pets.

Ella and brother Mozz out exploring the shelter. At @ 4.5 months old, they are curious. We hope to see their brother Cheezy join them in some adventures soon. He is still a little nervous about leaving his cage.

We have some cuties at the Cortland shelter. Approximately 4.5 months old, Mozz and Ella can be seen hanging out together. Mozz is a buff and white male who is very friendly. Ella, torbie, is a little more shy and seems to be most brave when next to brother Mozz. They also have a brother Cheezy who is buff and white. He’s been much more timid and prefers to hang out in his cage. He’s trying to adjust to the busy shelter and needs a patient person to just love him where he’s at right now.

We open tonight from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at 17 Salisbury Street, Cortland to meet all of our wonderful residents.

To the moms out there… do you ever have a bad day and possibly take your stress out on your child, unintentionally? Well, Mesa has been a bit moody 😖 since she arrived at the Dewitt PetSmart on Wednesday evening.

She was hissing at her son Rocky! So while Rocky was playing hard yesterday, mama got annoyed with him. 😥 We gave her space from him last night, but she chose to go back to his side today.

The volunteer said she has been much calmer and wanted endless pets this morning. Change can be hard and they are in a small space together. We hope someone will still give them a home together, where mom will have some space away when she needs it. Human moms probably understand after kids have been home all summer. 🤣
