Chase and Hazel are still at a foster home waiting to be adopted. They both love to play. Hazel (tiger) has an abundance of energy, as she's about 8 months old. She’s a sweet girl.

Chase, gray and white, is still a little shy but occasionally loves attention. She gets nervous being picked up. She does well with other cats, loves talking to herself and bringing her foster mom random toys to show off her "hunting" skills. She’s approximately 9-10 months old.

They can be adopted separately, but would do best in a home with a young playmate.

Since they are currently in a foster placement, please complete an application. You can fill in the PDF online and email a picture. The other option is complete a paper copy to scan or email a picture to [email protected]. Once approved, we can set up a time to meet.

Oscar finally gave in and played with Quincy. The kittens are wearing sweet Oscar down. I guess he figured, if you can’t beat them, join them! 🤷🏻‍♀️

P.S. Although the picture doesn’t look good for Quincy, he’s fine. 🤣

Black cat Oscar, @ 2.5 years old, is still waiting at the Dewitt PetSmart for a home. 🤞

Oscar, a very mellow guy 2.5 year old, is surrounded by THREE pairs of kittens at the Dewitt PetSmart. He finally sauntered over to see what some of the fools were doing. 🤣

Look at the difference love, patience, and socialization can make!! Cats in shelters often need time to feel safe, build confidence, and learn that people can be a source of comfort.

Every interaction matters. A few minutes of play, gentle pets, or simply sitting with a shy cat can help them become more adoptable and find their forever home.

Want to be part of a cat’s transformation story? 🐱✨

Volunteer with CNY SNAP and help give shelter cats the love and socialization they deserve.

We have an adorable trio plus their mother that are ready for adoption. The two brothers and their sister are approximately 10 weeks old and in a foster placement waiting for a permanent home. They love to eat and are used to being handled by adults and children.

Charlie (Timon) and Gus Gus (Pumba) are playful, curious and energetic. They are total sweethearts. The foster mom would love to see them remain together.

Nala (called Queen Tulip by the foster family) is a hissy little thing. It’s just her way of expressing she is nervous, but doesn’t resist when being picked up. So, her scary show is all an act. The foster mom describes her as “spicy but a total royal little love bug.”

Their mom, Sarabi, is also with them and hoping to find a family. Sarabi is sweet and also a big fan of food. She was a stray trying to keep her babies safe on the streets until they were rescued. She’s approximately 4 years old.

We prefer that young kittens be adopted in pairs or to a home that has another young playmate. The adoption fee for cats six months and younger is $130 each. Cats over six months old are $100. This includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines up-to-date, preventative flea and deworming treatments and tested for FIV/FeLV.

Since they are currently in a foster placement, please complete an application. You can fill in the PDF online and email a picture. The other option is complete a paper copy to scan or email a picture to [email protected]. Once approved, we can set up a time to meet.

Let’s start the work week off on a positive note.

Adoption update: Purrlock Holmes was adopted and we got this wonderful update from his adopter. “He’s starting to come upstairs more. Especially in the evenings. This is the nicest, most loving cat I have ever had! He’s such a lover!!”

Purrlock is a sweet boy and we’re thrilled that his big heart is being appreciated. ❤️❤️❤️

Oh Precious, we are so sorry!!! This 18 year-old super senior lost her owner when they passed. 💔 The family members didn’t want her and she was then found dropped off outside the shelter in a carrier. 🙀😿 This has all been very traumatic for this elderly girl.

A Dewitt PetSmart volunteer made a special trip to Cortland, so Precious could be taken out of the busy shelter. We know the store isn’t totally quiet, but it’s a little less hectic than the shelter.

Precious is still nervous, but she likes to be pet. She has a deep, loud meow. She’s been talking a lot, telling us that she’s feeling stressed and just wants a calm, quiet home to spend the rest of her days in. Even though she may sound grumpy. She is happy about head scratches. She has a cute little waddle when she walks.

She has long hair and we are looking to try working on getting it less matted in some places. She looks like a roughed up fluff ball at the moment. With some TLC, she’s going to be absolutely beautiful.

We’re hoping a loving cat person will be willing to give her a final home. 🙏 Come meet her at the Dewitt PetSmart.
