Yeah, YOU. The human capable of making reasonable and logical decisions. Capable of doing things for the better good, not just being a taker and a user.

Don’t forget fixing the males. Having the attitude of it’s “Not your problem…” just because you don’t to deal with the litter, is just not right.

It becomes society’s problem. With being said, why aren’t we holding these individuals accountable who are unleashing literal assaults on our society as a whole?

Because they can’t put the booze down? The ci******es down & afford to be a responsible pet owner? Or they can’t stop partying or doing whatever else they deem more important in their lives? Or simply that they have the attitude that “It’s not their problem?” And we just allow that….

Come on. This should be a crime heavily enforced by law. Punishable by imprisonment. That includes harming cats by shooting them, trapping and relocating them if you’re caught. These people should be put into an offender registry as an animal abuser, and if they offend a second time it should be against the law for them to have pets of any kind. Period.

Plainly put, it should ruin a person’s life if they engage in burdening society as a whole in the way this truly is today. Many cats needlessly suffering. All agencies from Veterinary Clinics, to Shelters, to Rescues, TO INDIVIDUALS attemting to help, get pushed beyond the breaking point from overpopulation. All of this because we don’t want to hold the assaulting individual accountable? What world are we living in?

Make it hurt. Make these individuals deem it a priority above everything else they used as an excuse not do it.

Why is Montezuma County not implementing ordinances requiring pet owners to do this as heavily as they enforce the requirement of pets being vaccinated with Rabies? It’s the law in Denver County our bigger cities. It should be the law here too. Not only here, but statewide, nationwide.

The only excuse you should have to be in the possession of intact cats, is to have an affiliation with feral cat rescues & a license to do so.

Otherwise, incentivize it. Provide people with a way of paying for it. It should just be free. Then there is no excuse not to do it. None. And if you don’t, you should be sent to prison where you belong and your life left in ruins the way you have left our society in ruins.

Society can’t afford it? We afford it every day hundreds and hundreds of cats that vouchers from government agencies & rescues pay for.

These clinics often say, “Feral cats only,” not domestic cats that have homes?!? Where do you think the feral cats came from? Our society can afford it.

It’s a crisis everywhere you turn, there is no discrimination on where the problem exists today.

Why aren’t Animal Control agencies working to make this the law?

And I’ll add, people who are feeding feral cats but not TNR’ing them - if you are physically capable, you’re not really helping either.

Yes, TNR works. But that’s only if you get them all. Otherwise, it just helps… That is my opinion.

I want to work on this, but my health keeps suppressing my ability to do so.

AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE 🦠 & VACCINES PART 2:

Within the last 6 months, based on personal experience, we have had multiple Vet clinics say that:
“YOUR CAT HAS TO HAVE A RABIES SHOT TODAY. IT IS THE LAW.”

Mind you, these clinics NEVER ASKED for us to bring the cat’s rabies records. NEVER ASKED if they were current on their rabies vaccines before making that statement. No, they stated without any possibility of an exception to “the law,” that our cats were going to be vaccinated for Rabies. Period.

We live in a location where we have to travel extensively for veterinary care because no local vets will take on new clients because they are so overrun. A common occurrence in many places. A trip to the vet here is a minimum 20 minutes up to a 1 1/2 hr drive, one way! ☝️ That is 3 hours or more, round trip at times. And because of this issue, we use various vet clinics, hoping to get in with the nearest one. But that isn’t always possible. And so, it’s a constant battle, informing the new clinic or new veterinarian about the pet in front of them.

But this is another thing I want you guys to know…. 1 - Know the laws/local ordinances. 2 - Know your rights. 3 - Don’t let anyone push you around.

First of all, let me say, I DO NOT know the laws specifically myself. I intend to research this for our local area. But it is my general understanding & always has been, that pets within the city limits of Colorado must be vaccinated against Rabies. That it IS THE LAW. But within about the last 6 months, vet clinics are being very forceful about it. Apparently, the state is pressuring them more nowadays, is what I was told when I asked why this is bring to forcefully pushed now.

But I will say this. It is common sense that there are legitimate reasons to NOT VACCINATE pets for Rabies & situations in which the law may not be applicable. And autoimmune disease 🦠 is one of those reasons.

Don’t let anyone push you into making decisions that will negatively affect the life of your pet. Veterinarians are supposed to be looking out for the pet’s well being & health. It is not logical to vaccinate when it may be at the detriment of the pet’s health. And don’t let them tell you otherwise.

First, the pet needs to be able to be declared healthy enough to receive vaccinations. 💉

Personally, this one particular cat that already is suffering from adverse reactions to a Rabies vaccine would have been vaccinated for rabies 3 additional times within the duration that i the cat still current on the vaccine. If we hadn’t given a firm “NO.”

So my advice is, always bring your Rabies vaccination records with you to all your vet appointments. Especially if it is a pet the clinic hasn’t seen before, or a new provider. Because they won’t ask you. And then they will tell you that you’re going to have it done, that it is the law. And maybe they won’t tell you until it’s too late & they already did it. And that is just an uneasy feeling... For vets to be more worried about the law than the pet’s health. But it is becoming a frequent occurrence these days.

For those of you wondering, how might you know if a pet could potentially have an autoimmune disease? 🦠 For cats, their mouths may look like this. It may start as an oral manifestation. Where the cat is young, and shouldn’t have severe dental disease, but it does. Especially the gums being inflamed. Yes, that can simply be dental disease. But Key factors are:
- Unusually severe for the cat’s age
- If the manifestation attacks new parts of the cat’s body after tending to the immediate issue, which may be the dental disease initially.
- It can be genetic. So, if you got a kitten out of an adult that had autoimmune disease, it is very possible and even likely the offspring will have it too.

Autoimmune Diseases can be difficult to diagnose. And there is no sure way to definitively conclude whether a cat or pet has it. But these are some of the tell tale signs you might see & that should be a forewarning to heed with caution when vaccinating that pet.

(This photo is what initial manifestations of autoimmune disease in cats might look like. Note, the cat’s teeth are very white & most of the remaining teeth look to be in great shape. I would guess this cat to be between 2-5 years old. It’s already had to have bottom teeth removed and the inflammation remains. It’s hard to say exactly what was going on with this particular cat without more info, but this gives people an idea.
But the severe inflammation on the gum lines of what look to be pretty healthy teeth overall, is a tell tale sign. Additionally, the tumor-like masses or lumps may be another sign.
If you don’t know the age of the cat in question, looking at their teeth will give you some clues.)

Hey guys! (EDITED)

I apologize for our extended disappearance. Things have been quite difficult for myself personally, with two ill parents & battling my own health issues as well.

I wanted to touch on a couple of things. First, I wanted to talk about: Auto-immune disease & vaccines.

Secondly, I want to touch on this issue which I believe should be priority in our country today, no matter where you are. And that is the cat overpopulation crisis & law reform.

Third, I want to ask for help. I’m not really someone who asks for help. But this condition I have is humbling me & forcing me to. Because the fact is, my physical & mental abilities are extremely limited today because of it.

I just want to warn others about issues I’ve had through personal experience & that I was unaware of until recently. In fact, even as someone who has auto-immune issues themselves, I continue to learn about it more & more everyday.

AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE & VACCINES🦠 PART 1:

First of all, if you suspect a pet has an autoimmune condition, you should heed vaccines 💉 of all kinds very cautiously ⚠️ Vaccines kit start the immune system & for one with an autoimmune condition, it can activate the immune system, chronically & cause a cascade of issues that can ultimately be fatal. Although it is extremely rare for a vaccine to be a fatal outcome, it can trigger & worsen underlying issues that can lead to a loss of quality of life so severely, you may have to euthanize the pet.

The other thing I didn’t know until recently is that “Low cost clinics” come with a price. Especially if you’re dealing with a pet who may potentially have anautoimmune disease.

“Low-cost rabies vaccines are not necessarily inherently dangerous, as all veterinary vaccines in the U.S. must meet USDA standards for safety, efficacy, and purity. However, certain factors often associated with low-cost clinics, such as the use of specific older technologies, higher protein content, and rapid, high-volume administration, can lead to a slightly higher likelihood of adverse reactions.”

My personal cat is experiencing this & it’s been quite difficult for me. I feel I let her down. Didn’t do my due diligence in protecting her. But as someone who has a very limited income & tries to help many cats, it seemed like a logical thing to do at the time. But it has cost thousands of dollars since & almost the life of this particular cat. And it probably saved $50 at the time. I Which is an absolutely tragedy & has been quite difficult to come to terms with.

CAT OVERPOPULATION & LAW REFORM PART 1:

As far as the cat overpopulation, it is an absolute crisis. And although TNR does work, it is only one piece of the puzzle 🧩 & is not the sole answer to this crisis. Here in Colorado, places like Denver & Aurora have ordinances/laws that make it so a pet owner must spay/neuter their pets within the city limits. This should be implemented not only state wide, but nation wide. And it should not matter whether or not it is within the city limits. Together, we should push for that. It is a simple & logical thing to do.

TNR HELP NEEDED PART 1:

Lastly, I would like to ask for help. Anyone in Montrose or Montezuma county to help me TNR. We can train people. I have gotten to a place where I simply need help. I cannot manage my own problems in life. I have neglected TNR. And sometimes it’s as simple as “Ask, and you shall receive.” If you know anyone in these areas, please send them to us. So we can get more feet on the ground covering these areas that so desperately need it.

Thank you all for your help!

And here is a picture of little Sunshine Boy 🌞 to brighten your day!

Please consider helping my friend this holiday season. She has literally saved thousands of cats. Likely, tens of thousands or even more when you include the countless offspring she has prevented from entering this world & suffering without food, healthcare, or homes. It’s impossible to know exactly how many cats have passed through her hands. And she does all of this mostly on her own, with only occasional help.

In my eyes, she’s a hero. Every time I’ve reached out in need of help with cats, she’s never once turned me away. She’s helped me in my rescue efforts or in any way I could ever use it. She’s donated cat food to me f for cats in other countries in need. The cost of rescuing these animals is overwhelming, and the emotional weight is enormous for animal lovers. Most people burn out quickly under the burden. The work itself is relentless…

Please, don’t let her carry this heavy load alone. If you’re able, consider doing a good deed for an animal lover this holiday season. Even a small donation can make a big difference—every little bit helps! Even $5 from you & find a friend to donate $5. Believe it or not, it makes a difference! If you can’t help in that way, help her by liking, commentating, or sharing her posts. That’s how these cats find homes. It may be someone you know looking for one of the cats she has! And, giver her a follow!

Thank you, Happy Holidays everyone!🎄

Sorry for falling off the face of the earth - you guys, I’ve been struggling severely with my health lately. One of my personal cats almost was euthanized recently & I intend in making a post about this once I feel well enough. I believe others can learn from mistakes that were made in this instance, both by me & by the ones we rely on (veterinarians) to correctly & accurately treat and diagnose our babies.

All the crying flared up my chronic illness pretty severely. I also have been on a journey to find some joy after a stint with family member’s health issues that also were extremely difficult for me to cope with. I simply needed a break & to just be happy—which is the path I remain on for the time being.

But on a positive note 🎵 Here’s an update on our beloved little Sunshine ☀️ Boy 💙

Look at this cute little Stinker Head! 😸He’s now been neutered & his owner says we can come visit him whenever we want, if we happen to come to the area! We get regular updates ~ which; quite frankly, is the best payment we could ever receive… Because caring for these little guys & pulling them out of bad situations (because those are the cats we focus on) and ultimately having to hand them off to someone else, it’s a very taxing thing emotionally. Some of these cats just hold a very special place in our hearts; some, more than others. This guy was one of the “more than others” for me, personally. But we can’t keep them all! But it is very encouraging to us to see them doing well!! 🥹😸😍🙏💕
We thrive on that!

We love you, “Sunshine…”☀️
You really tugged at our heartstrings.

Update on Sunshine ☀️ (9/25/25)

He was seen @ Urban Vet in Denver, CO on 9/24/25 & tested for FELV/FIV & the test came back NEGATIVE. That is great news! 😸 He was vaccinated & he has an upcoming appointment to be neutered.

He has come a long way since we found him on September 14th! He now has an excellent home & has had numerous people come together to give him the best possible chance at a happy & healthy life. Thank you to his new owner, Trinity, for giving him a second chance at life! 🐈‍⬛

Beth, thank you so much for all that you do for the love & welfare of cats! 💕 You are a super hero in my eyes & have renewed my faith in humanity to see just how far people who love cats are willing to go! (She drove all the way from Denver, slept in her car overnight in Gunnison & it’s freezing in the high country at night right now 🍁🏔️) - all to meet us to make sure this lil’ guy could get where he needed to go. It was not possible without you!

Many people (strangers) who saw this sweet face in need of help, went very much out of their way to make it happen. For us, the thing that makes it all worth it is seeing photos of the cats we rescued thriving! 🥹 That is what makes it all worth it! 😍

I am needing a break & feeling quite unwell physically after this stint of really overdoing it. So I will be taking a bit of a break from social media.

But at least we can now cry ‘happy’ tears to know that we made an impact, no matter how small. We TNR’d 12 cats in Montrose County. We placed a sick & homeless cat into a loving forever home & he is healthy. Each ‘one’ makes a difference.

Sunshine ☀️ was the most expensive cat we’ve ever rescued, but he was so worth it! His vet bill yesterday was nearly $325.00 & the new owner paid part as well. Sunshine ☀️ has another upcoming appointment that will be quite expensive soon as well.

If you would like to donate to our program so we are not throttled in helping other cats in need, please do so @ 👉

Let’s keep it going for the next kitty that crosses our path & needs help! 🐈‍⬛🐾💕😍

Sunshine says, “Thank you everyone for caring about me…” 🐈‍⬛🥹🐾😸🐾🥹🐈‍⬛

09/23/2025

Our sweet boy, Sunshine ☀️ started displaying unusual behavior last night on 9/22/25, right before he was to make his trip to his new owner. We could not delay his trip because someone was already waiting for him in Gunnison to take him the rest of the way.

Sunshine just was just not his usual, playful self. He was grooming himself excessively. He also seemed like his abdomen was distended. He was biting when touched, like he did not want to be petted, which is very unlike him… 😞

So, we told the new owner to get him to the veterinary clinic as soon as possible to confirm or exclude the possibility of wet FIP. He now has a veterinary appointment on 9/24/25 @ 3:00 pm with “Urban Vet,” in Denver, CO on Phone # (303) 477-1984

We told the new owner we were not abandoning either her or Sunshine ☀️& that we would see him through this. The new owner has had a huge upfront cost of acquiring this little guy. So we told her that we we’ll pay the veterinary bill tomorrow. We had also promised to pay his vaccines so he can be a healthy, happy kitty.

Our priority is to rule out this serious illness like wet FIP which is almost always fatal if left untreated. He does not have a fever though & reportedly is playful at his new home, so a serious diagnosis seems unlikely. It could just be intestinal parasites. But If it is FIP, we’re committed to helping her find a way to afford the life-saving medication, which will be very be costly.

If you can find it in your heart to help us see Sunshine ☀️ through to the healthy & happy life he deserves, please donate to either the vet clinic listed (& inform us), or send it to 👉

https://cash.app/$RockyMNTPurrProject

An exam visit estimate will be attached in the comments.

Thank you for caring about cats like Sunshine, who had literally no one to look after him just a week ago. Thanks to the kindness of many, this special boy now has the best possible chance at a healthy, happy life. We couldn’t do this work without you! Your support not only helps Sunshine now, but also opens the door for other cats in need who cross our path. Together, we’re making a difference, one life at a time! 😸🐾💕

09/23/2025

Sunshine just made it to his half way point in Gunnison. He seemed like something was not quite right with him last night. I thought maybe he could sense that something was up (I was giving off stress vibes) because he was just not his usual playful self. He was grooming himself excessively. His belly seemed a bit distended.
I am hoping that some of us can pull together & assist the new owner in getting him a thorogh vet exam. She already had to come up with significant amounts of money between security deposits for her apartment to allow him there & also to get him neutered soon. Upwards of about $500 just for those basics & that does not include food & other necessities.
So, let’s see if we can help her & our beloved little guy “Sunshine!” 😸☀️
