Polio has affected millions of lives, but many survivors went on to achieve remarkable things. Famous polio survivors include Franklin D. Roosevelt, who became U.S. president; Mia Farrow, the acclaimed actress and activist; Itzhak Perlman, the world-renowned violinist; and Donald Sutherland, the celebrated Canadian actor. Their stories remind us that a polio diagnosis does not have to define a person’s future. Resilience, talent, and determination can overcome enormous challenges.

📢CALLING ALL ROTARIANS!!!📢

Our Limited-Time Annual Fund-SHARE Matching Campaign is back!

August 1 through October 31, District 5870 will match your $250 to $500 cash contribution to Annual Fund-SHARE 1-to-1 with Foundation Recognition Points toward your next Paul Harris Fellow level.

It’s one of the best opportunities of the year to move closer to your next Paul Harris Fellow recognition while supporting the fund that makes Rotary projects possible across District 5870 and around the world.

Fast-Track Your Recognition. Fuel Rotary Projects.

Your Annual Fund-SHARE contributions help make our DAP Grants, Career & Technical Education Scholarships, District Service Projects, and Global Grants possible.

The Annual Fund is the only Foundation fund that returns dollars to our district through SHARE, providing the resources our clubs use to turn ideas into action.

No Annual Fund means no SHARE. No SHARE means fewer projects. And without projects, Rotary is just a meeting.

This past Wednesday, we proudly hosted our District Governor, Jeff Coleman. After an inspirational pep talk, he proudly told us about his mission for this Rotary year: change the world!

Pictured is a water filtration system that will be installed in Uganda next year. Jeff’s challenge to us: a sponsorship of a system. So, let’s do this Corsicana Rotary Club!

In a small village school in Uganda, the sound of children’s laughter filled the morning air. But every day, before lessons could begin, many students walked long distances to collect water that wasn’t always safe to drink. Too often, stomach illnesses kept children out of the classroom and stole precious days of learning.

Then one day, everything changed.

A simple water filtration system was installed at the school. It didn’t just clean water—it opened doors to brighter futures. Children filled their cups with confidence, knowing the water was safe. They spent less time sick and more time reading, writing, dreaming, and playing.

One clean glass of water became a lesson in hope. It reminded everyone that even the smallest act of kindness can create ripples that reach far beyond a single classroom.

When we provide clean water, we don’t just quench thirst—we nourish health, protect education, and empower the next generation to build a better future. Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream with a cup of clean water in their hands.
