Indigenous Farm Hub

Indigenous Farm Hub Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a mutually beneficial relationship between farmers and local consumers. Items vary according to the season.

We create systems where community, families, and farmers create a network of Indigenous farms for healthy food, access to nutritious, locally grown foods, reclaiming land, building prosperity, and revitalizing language and culture. Think of it as a subscription to in-season produce. Participants provide funding for the farmer in advance of the growing season in exchange for produce when it’s ready

. They could be beets, lettuce, potatoes, tomatoes, a watermelon — whatever is ripe for picking. Indigenous Farm Hub CSA participants sign up and pay in the spring with a discounted rate. Membership is accepted all year at a prorated price.

THIS SATURDAY!
Community Native Plant Giveaway at the Española Healing Foods Oasis

In our work to advocate for those most vulnerable and to nurture beloved community, we cannot forget our plant and wildlife relatives we share our home ecosystems with. Last year, we shared 30 piñon pine trees with community members in an effort to provide an opportunity for our community members to learn about native plants cultivation, while helping to tend a threatened species.

This year, we are excited to offer another free fall native plants distribution! Our friends at Plants of the Southwest have tended starts of native chokecherry, silver buffaloberry, golden currant, and wild rose - all species with edible and medicinal benefits, as well as significant roles in the support of our pollinator relatives.

Our giveaway will begin this Saturday, October 21, from 9 am to 12 pm during our final volunteer day of the year at the Española Healing Foods Oasis and will end when all of our starts have found new homes. Come by our volunteer day to learn about cultivating native trees and shrubs, and to take one home to plant this fall!

School Board Elections Matter ! ❤️💙
Because school board members make education decisions on behalf of their communities and our students, it is important for voters to research and question school board candidates, participate in school board elections, and remain engaged once members are elected.

As educators, you are trusted community members, and when you speak out on an issue of importance, you are heard. When you educate friends and neighbors about why every election is high stakes for public education, you are doing the right thing for students and schools.

When your local association gets involved in school board elections. you are standing up for our students! 💪🏽
