TARS & Friends is a Membership Program of TARS Awareness Texas. It was created to ensure that no one living with a disability ever feels alone.

We are commitmentted to inclusion — embracing individuals of all ages and abilities & those that walk w/them.

Sunday was our second TARS & Friends gathering, and our hearts are so full. 💙

We spent the afternoon bowling, enjoying some amazing food, sharing laughs, and most importantly, spending time together. Watching families connect, children play, and new friendships begin is exactly why TARS & Friends was created.

What started as an idea to bring people together is becoming a community where everyone belongs. Whether you have a disability, love someone who does, or simply have a heart for inclusion, there is a place for you here.

One of our favorite parts of these gatherings is getting to know our members and seeing the support, encouragement, and genuine friendships that form. We are committed to supporting all of our members and creating opportunities for families to connect, have fun, and feel seen and heard.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made the day so special. We truly loved spending time with each and every one of you.

At TARS & Friends, we believe in showing up for one another—and one of the most powerful ways to do that is by donating blood. Every day, children and adults in our community rely on blood and platelet donations during surgeries, cancer treatments, emergencies, chronic illnesses, and rare medical conditions. That's why we're proud to support this upcoming blood drive and invite our TARS & Friends family to join us.

Big things are coming to TARS Awareness Texas 💙✨

We’re finalizing details right now on a lineup of upcoming events, and we’re so excited to share them with you soon.

For our TARS & Friends members: get ready for lots of chances to connect, play, and just have fun together.

For our Coastal Bend community: we’ve got several fundraising events in the works, and we’d love for you to show up and show out with us.

Each event will get its own post with dates, times, and all the info as soon as things are locked in.

And here’s the best part… this is just some of what we’re working on. There’s always more brewing over here 😅💙

This summer promises to be 🔥!

We're busy finalizing plans for a series of exciting events, including bowling, cake baking and decorating, a Blood Drive, slime making, a hip hop dance class, and a movie night. 💙

🩵All TARS and Friends members are welcome to attend, and participation is always free. 🩵

We'll also have special opportunities for the general public to join in AND help support our mission. More details coming soon!

We don’t even know how to fully put our 4th Annual 5K & Family Expo weekend into words… but we do know how it felt 💙

It felt like community.
It felt like connection.
It felt like exactly what TARS & Friends is supposed to be.

Watching our families show up, seeing friendships form, kids playing, parents connecting, everyone just being able to exist without pressure… those are the moments that stick with you.

If you were part of the weekend in any way—thank you. Truly.
