Tomorrow we celebrate a remarkable achievement — the graduation of our fire cadets from the fire academy.

Through months of hard work, discipline, sacrifice, and determination, these men and women have proven they are ready to answer the call to serve their community with courage and integrity. They have trained relentlessly, pushed through challenges, and earned the honor of joining one of the most respected professions in the world.

As you take this next step in your journey, remember that being a firefighter is more than a career — it is a commitment to service, teamwork, and protecting others when they need it most.

Congratulations, graduates! Your dedication has brought you to this moment, and your future is bright. Stay safe, stay humble, and never stop learning.

Welcome to the fire service! 🚒🔥

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers in our communities and within our fire service family.

Today, the members of the Local 936 honor the strength, compassion, and sacrifices that mothers make every single day. Whether you are raising children, supporting a family, caring for loved ones, or standing beside those who serve, your love and resilience inspire us all.

To the mothers who wear the uniform, thank you for your courage both at home and on the front lines. To the mothers who support firefighters through long shifts, missed holidays, and difficult calls, your unwavering support never goes unnoticed. And to the mothers who have shaped our lives with guidance, kindness, and unconditional love, we are forever grateful.

Your dedication builds stronger families, stronger communities, and a stronger future for us all.

From all of us at the IAFF Local 936, we wish you a Mother’s Day filled with love, appreciation, and the recognition you so deeply deserve.

Happy Mother’s Day. 🚒❤️

Today we honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of firefighters around the world. On International Firefighters’ Day, we recognize those who run toward danger to protect lives, homes, and communities.

Thank you for your bravery in the face of uncertainty, your strength in moments of crisis, and your compassion when it’s needed most. Your service does not go unnoticed, and your impact reaches far beyond the fires you fight.

We remember those who have lost their lives in the line of duty and stand in gratitude with those who continue to serve every day.

🩷 The Corpus Christi Firefighters’ C.A.R.E. Foundation had an incredible time at the Barefoot Mardi Gras Parade on February 28! Not only did our team help ensure the event ran safely, but we also hit the parade route with our Pink Fire Truck to raise awareness for our mission: "Supporting those who Save Lives."

🎉 The celebration continued on April 9th, when the Barefoot Mardi Gras organizers hosted a special ceremony for four local organizations making a difference. We are deeply honored to have received a $10,000 donation to support our ongoing work in the community!

🙏🏼 A huge thank you to Barefoot Mardi Gras for their generosity and for spotlighting the spirit of togetherness that makes our Island so special.

🔥Check out our CC Firefighters CARE page to learn more about how we give back!

First Due Boil Crew—Marcus Brown, Austin Eagerton, and Adam Hernandez—are trading their firefighter gear for aprons at Men Who Cook, bringing their teamwork and firehouse spirit to the kitchen. This crew from Station 1 is cooking up a hearty boil while supporting the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities South Texas and the families who need it most.

On April 9, 2026, The Corpus Christi Fire Department awarded various individuals for not only their outstanding actions but for their dedication in bettering the lives of those around them.

🏅Engine 17 and Medic 17 crews were awarded the Meritorious Unit Commendation award for their prompt and effective actions that saved the life of an unconscious pregnant woman.
🏅The dispatcher who instructed the husband to start CPR and remained vigilant the entire time until EMS arrived was also recognized for her valiant performance during the call.

🎖️Firefighter Marco Trevino and Firefighter Adam Esquivel were both awarded the Firefighter’s Life Saving award for their heroic actions in assisting an officer that was shot in the line of duty.

📣 Many firefighters were recognized for their years of service and dedication to our profession with multiple firefighters having 30 to 40 years with the Corpus Christi Fire Department!

🏆Firefighter II Jeremy Sandoval was awarded the Firefighter of the Year award.
