Since 2018, the Corpus Christi Songwriters Festival has brought in hundreds of songwriters for a multi-day event spread across multiple venues in downtown Corpus Christi, featuring song swap showcases, headliners such as Ben Kweller, Walt Wilkins, Ian Moore, Susan Gibson, Adam & Chris Carroll, workshops, panels, and awards ceremonies. Corpus Christi Songwriters has been on a mission to spread the interest in original music around Corpus Christi and its surrounding areas. Partnering with Executive Surf Club, the Corpus Christi Songwriters “In The Rounds” create an intimate environment welcoming new and seasoned songwriters to share their songs with an attentive and engaged audience. The format is simple: each songwriter is allowed to perform two songs (they can be new songs, or old songs, but they must be ORIGINAL songs). Dedicated to spotlighting some of the best, daring and unique original music, CCSW invites 4-5 regional songwriters to perform every January, April, August and November, rotating between House of Rock and The Churchyard - to of the best live music venues in the Coastal Bend. Our organization will sponsor and host three Songwriting Workshops each year, once in February - during the annual Corpus Christi Music Awards & Conference, once in June - as part of our annual Summer Songwriting Retreat, and once in the fall. CC Songwriters Retreat
We will host one Summer Songwriting Retreat in June of each year - kicking off on Thursday evening, and culminating with a live concert premiering each new song on Saturday night.
