A CASA volunteer is a consistent presence in a child’s life during the process of the case. I am for the child who has been taken away from his parents for his own safety. I am for the child who is in her fifth, sixth, or seventh foster home. I am for the child who has never been told he is loved, or smart, or strong. 10 Hours of Zoom Training- Must Utilize Video
10 Hours of Pre-Work
10 Hours Homework/Review / Collaborative Family Engagement
3 Hours of Court Room Observation via Zoom

Today was Adoption Day, and while these days are always filled with joy, they also remind us of the difficult journey that brought a child here.

When reunification is not possible, we are grateful for families who open their hearts and homes with unconditional love. Today, we witnessed one of those families, and the love they have for this child radiated throughout the courtroom.

Our CASA volunteer and staff member, Trish, has been by this child's side for the past two years! Looking at this happy little boy standing before us today was a beautiful reminder of the difference consistent love, support, and advocacy can make.

Congratulations to this wonderful family on their forever day. 💙

Today, we had the privilege of witnessing three children be adopted into two permanent, safe, and loving homes.

Some days, this work is incredibly hard. Cases can take years, and there are moments filled with heartbreak and uncertainty. But today was one of those days that reminds us why we do it.

A special thank you to our volunteer advocates, Midge and Adam. Midge faithfully walked alongside this case for three difficult years, giving so much of herself to these children and families. Adam dedicated the past year and a half to helping ensure this child had a voice. Your commitment and compassion helped make today possible.

This is the silver lining. This is what makes it worth it.

We are thrilled to express our heartfelt appreciation to Anita, W.T. Neyland Public Library, and the Friends of the Corpus Christi Library for their extraordinary contribution to CASA of the Coastal Bend. The beautifully crafted handmade Afghan blankets, baby blankets, toddler beanies, and lovey blankets, created by the Hooked and Yarn Club, will undoubtedly spread joy and warmth to the children in our community.
