๐ Celebrating Community, Literature, and Mental Health Advocacy ๐
On Saturday, September 6th, Distinctive Collective, Inc. had the honor of hosting a fundraiser in celebration of the book publication of Someone is You by Lupita Almaraz, beloved local author from Hebbronville, Texas, and a Distinctive Collective, Inc. Board Member who is slated to step into the leadership of running Distinctive Collective, Inc.
Together, with the support of our incredible community, we raised $2,000.00 to advance our mission of bridging the gap from academia to practice. These funds will directly support the EMDR Training of two counseling students volunteering at Distinctive Counseling and Consulting, PLLC in the Fall 2025 semester, ensuring that emerging clinicians are equipped to provide FREE trauma-informed care to those who need it most.
โจ A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors:

And a very special acknowledgment to United States Congressman Henry Cuellar, PhD, for his Congressional Recognition honoring Lupita Almaraz for her poetry work and Distinctive Collective, Inc. for our critical work in advancing mental health care across South Texas.
This fundraiser was more than an event, it was a testament to the power of community, storytelling, and commitment to ensuring that every clinician and every client has access to effective, compassionate, trauma-informed care.
๐ Thank you for standing with us. The future of mental health in South Texas is Distinctive, and itโs brighter because of you.
