🌟 Celebrating Community, Literature, and Mental Health Advocacy 🌟

On Saturday, September 6th, Distinctive Collective, Inc. had the honor of hosting a fundraiser in celebration of the book publication of Someone is You by Lupita Almaraz, beloved local author from Hebbronville, Texas, and a Distinctive Collective, Inc. Board Member who is slated to step into the leadership of running Distinctive Collective, Inc.

Together, with the support of our incredible community, we raised $2,000.00 to advance our mission of bridging the gap from academia to practice. These funds will directly support the EMDR Training of two counseling students volunteering at Distinctive Counseling and Consulting, PLLC in the Fall 2025 semester, ensuring that emerging clinicians are equipped to provide FREE trauma-informed care to those who need it most.

We are thrilled to announce that Mirakal McGill is now officially EMDR Certified through EMDRIA! This remarkable achievement reflects her dedication to trauma-informed care and her passion for healing-centered therapy.

This also means Distinctive Counseling & Consulting, PLLC is now the home of 3 EMDR Certified clinicians in the Coastal Bend community!

Mirakal's certification journey was made possible through the 2023 Nikki Claudette EMDR Scholarship, a collaborative initiative by Distinctive Collective, Inc. and Dr. Jinnelle Veronique Powell, PhD, LPC-S, EMDR Trainer & Consultant with Distinctive Counseling & Consulting, PLLC.
