Spring is here! Join us tomorrow for our April meeting, where the guest speakers will be our fabulous scholarship recipients. They will be showing us their individual research! This is our once a year meeting on the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi campus, at Harte Research Institute. Our meeting will be held in their downstairs conference room. We are also meeting one hour ahead of normal time, at 6:00pm. See you there! 🤩

April is coming, and so are the birds! 🐦 Every weekend in the month of April, we invite you to join us for Blucher Bird Walks at Blucher Park, where one of our members will lead a free guided bird walk through the park during peak migration season. All ages and experience levels are welcome, and we encourage you to bring some binoculars. Check our FB Events to let us know if you plan to join us! See you there. 😁

We have an exciting December meeting to round out 2025! 🤩 Join us in community with Dania Sanchez, a Texas wildlife photographer and birder on a mission to express her appreciation for birds and wildlife through her work. She currently serves as President of Golden Triangle Audubon Society and a volunteer for Texas Ornithological Society's Sabine Woods.

Dania believes that with the help of visibility and education our current and future generations can learn a new appreciation for birds and how they can improve quality of life.

In 2024, Dania embarked on a wild adventure called the Texas Big Year, resulting with her observing 512 species, putting her in 1st place lead for 2024. Dania now holds the number 1 female spot for most species seen for Texas in a year.

Support our Birdathon teams! 🐧 The Audubon Outdoor Club is hosting a birding/fundraising competition benefiting the Dr. Howard & Beth Hoekje Conservation Scholarship at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi & Texas A&M University - Kingsville. Birders compete to see as many bird species as they can in 24 hours and raise funds for the scholarship. What a great way to kick off the month of April! 🥳 The groups that gathered at Blucher Park on April 5th and 6th were excited to report 29 species on Saturday and 27 species on Sunday. 🐦 The strong winds were a contributing factor to lower overall counts, but this is still an impressive showing by our feathered friends! Next weekend should be the perfect opportunity to see those migrant birds! 😍

Blucher Bird Walks are taking place every weekend in April, Saturdays and Sundays (excluding Easter Sunday). Meet us on Carrizo St. starting at 8am for guided walking. All skill-levels are welcome!
