This Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re honoring some of the Latino labor leaders who changed Texas labor forever. ✊🏽

Mike Zepeda was a leader for the Coastal Bend Labor Council, who began his half-century labor career as a member of United Steelworkers Local 4813, working for Reynolds Metal Co.

He later was a plaintiff in three significant civil rights cases, including lawsuits that desegregated Corpus Christi schools. And that’s just scraping the surface of his lifelong career.

This month and every month, we honor the leadership and contributions of Mike and other Hispanic Texas labor leaders who made our movement what it is today.
