Barnes Families 💙⭐

That’s a wrap on another amazing school year! ☀️🎉

Today may be the last day of school, but the memories made this year will stay with us forever. From fun runs and family nights to award ceremonies, dances, and all the little moments in between… this year was special because of our incredible students, teachers, staff, and families.

We are so excited for summer adventures, sleeping in, pool days, and making memories with family… but oh goodness are we going to miss seeing all of our kiddos’ smiling faces every day ❤️

To our teachers and staff: thank you for loving, encouraging, teaching, and cheering on our students all year long. You make Ella Barnes such a magical place ⭐

And to our Barnes families… thank you for every volunteer hour, every donation, every event attended, every share, every kind word, and every bit of support this year. Our school community is truly something special.

Yearbook update: Shipping from the company has taken a bit longer than expected, averaging two weeks. As a result, any yearbooks purchased after May 12th will not be received before the last day of school. To help, the PTA placed a small order of books. Once the yearbooks arrive, we will update the page with a link so you can purchase directly from the PTA. These will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, all books purchased directly from Treering will be shipped to your home address. For any shipping questions or to check the current status of your order, please call Treering at 1-877-755-8733 and have your order number ready for the representative.

Be sure to check the Band app this week!

As we begin planning for next school year, we’re asking our approved PTA volunteers for input on a few fun things coming up, including spirit shirt designs and other activities for next year.

One of the best parts of having involved parents is getting real feedback and ideas from the families helping make these events possible. Your voice truly helps shape so many of the things our students enjoy throughout the year, and we appreciate you more than you know!

For families interested in becoming more involved next year, our Band app is where we share volunteer opportunities, PTA updates, planning input, and ways to help throughout the school year. Access to the volunteer Band group requires both an active PTA membership and an approved CCISD background check each school year.

Parents… we made it through Awards Week! 🎉
Now all that’s left is 5th Grade Awards, Field Day, and the 5th Grade Party. We are officially in the home stretch of the school year! ☀️

This time of year is full of proud moments, happy tears, big smiles, and memories our kiddos will never forget. We would absolutely LOVE it if you shared some of your beautiful Awards Day pictures with us so we can celebrate alongside our Barnes families ❤️

Our Barnes Stars truly shine bright! ⭐️
Join us in celebrating some of our amazing students and their incredible weekend accomplishments!
Phenix and Leilani traveled to Austin to be recognized by Texas PTA for their outstanding Reflections submissions. We are so proud of your creativity and hard work — keep shining bright! ✨ Students can also begin creating for next year’s Reflections theme: “What My Culture Means to Me.”

We also want to give a huge shoutout to our Running Club teams! 🏃⭐️
🥇 Our all-boys team earned 1st Place in their division (Nick, Jeffery, Alec, Jensen, Mohammed, and Johnny)
🥈 Our coed team earned 2nd Place in their division (Elias, Ezekiel, Jovan, Michael, Clark and Reina)
Way to represent Ella Barnes with pride, determination, and teamwork. Barnes Stars continue to shine both in and out of the classroom! 💙💛

Tutus, tiaras, bow ties, oh my! 👑✨

Friday was an amazing day full of glam, fun, and reading at our Fancy Nancy event 💖📚

Our fabulous fourth graders buddied up with our adorable Pre-K students for some Pete the Cat pizzazz, and everyone had an absolute blast ☀️

Honestly… we’re still not sure who had more fun, the kiddos or the adults 🥰

Thank you so much to everyone who helped make today so special. Everywhere we looked, we saw smiling faces, laughter, and sweet memories being made 💙

Days like this are what make Barnes such a special place ⭐️

🎉 Shoutout of the Week

This week’s shoutout goes to Arnold Gomez 💙

Mr. Gomez served as this year’s PTA Parliamentarian and will be returning in that role again next year

He also leads our amazing WATCH D.O.G.S. program and helps keep communication flowing with all of our incredible Barnes dads

Mr. Gomez has been such an active part of our school community all year long and always has a smile and high five ready for every student he sees ⭐

Thank you, Mr. Gomez, for everything you do for our Barnes families and students 💙

Last night’s Family Athletic Night was AMAZING! 🎉💙

The turnout was incredible, and everywhere we looked we saw smiling faces, laughing kids, families spending time together, and so many fun memories being made ☀️

Thank you to all of our volunteers who helped run stations and make the night possible. Events like this truly take a village, and we are so grateful for everyone who gave their time to help create such a special evening for our Barnes families ⭐️

A huge thank you also goes to everyone who stayed afterward to help clean up. Your kindness and willingness to jump in did not go unnoticed ❤️

And parents… amazing job. We saw so many polite, respectful, and helpful kiddos last night. Several students even stayed behind to help pick up and clean, and that says so much about our Barnes community 💙
