🏆 BIG NEWS FOR HALO-FLIGHT! 💙🚁

We are incredibly proud to announce that HALO-Flight has been named one of eight national finalists for the 2026 Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS) 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝!

And what makes this recognition even more special? This marks our SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR receiving this national honor!

This prestigious award recognizes excellence in patient care, leadership, safety, innovation and community impact.

As we approach 40 years of serving South Texas, this recognition is a testament to the incredible people behind our mission. From our flight crews and maintenance professionals to our communications team, administrative staff and leadership, every department plays an important role in the care we provide.

We're grateful to the communities, healthcare partners and supporters who have stood alongside us throughout the years.

We are honored to be recognized among some of the nation's most respected air medical programs and look forward to the awards ceremony on October 27 AMTC26 in Fort Worth, Texas.

🚁🔧 Our Maintenance team has been hard at work this week alongside our partners at Arrow Aviation Co LLC!

✅ HUMS installation
✅ New windshield
✅ New components
✅ Fresh paint

While this aircraft is getting some TLC, we're grateful to have a spare aircraft ready to keep DCH Critical Care Transport operations in flight! 💙🚁

There's a lot that happens behind the scenes to keep our aircraft safe, reliable and mission-ready.

To our incredible nursing friends across South Texas and beyond, this week we celebrate YOU!

Whether caring for patients in the emergency department, on the ground, or in the air, you work tirelessly caring for some of the most critically ill and injured patients. You witness things many will never experience in their lifetime. You navigate long hours, missed meals, quick breaks and one patient after another, often putting the needs of others before your own.

And when your shift finally ends, you head home, get some rest and return to do it all again.

We're beyond grateful for the nurses we have the privilege of working alongside and for the passion, compassion and expertise you bring to your profession every single day.

Thank you for all you do and for always putting CARE ABOVE ALL!

Blood donations save lives. 🩸

There are moments when having blood available can truly mean the difference between life and death.

Your donation helps supply blood not only to our local hospitals and trauma centers, but also to air medical and now ground EMS and fire agencies — putting another lifesaving tool into the hands of first responders caring for critically ill and injured patients.

Today is extra special as we also celebrate the 7th anniversary of our lifesaving partnership with HALO-Flight! Since the launch of this collaboration, whole blood donations have been available on HALO-Flight air ambulances, ensuring lifesaving blood is on board and ready when every second counts.

The very first recipient of a HALO-Flight blood transfusion made possible by your local Blood Center was 4-year-old Mithius, who was critically injured in a go-kart accident in Mathis, Texas. Since then, 200+ patients have experienced firsthand the lifesaving impact of pre-hospital blood transfusions. ❤️

We’re proud to participate in the 2026 Coastal Bend Day of Giving, November 10! 💛💙

This community-wide day of generosity brings people together to support nonprofits making a difference across the Coastal Bend.

Thanks to generous Matching Funders, $1.7 million in matching funds is available across the campaign, with up to $27,000 available for each participating nonprofit.

For HALO-Flight, that additional support helps us continue providing clinically superior, professionally maintained and flown air-ambulance service to critically ill and injured patients throughout our South Texas service area — regardless of their ability to pay.

For nearly 40 years, our commitment to safe, outstanding care when it matters most has remained at the heart of everything we do.
