"Sink Your Shucks" oyster reef restoration event at Goose Island State Park on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Anyone can volunteer, and Dr. Jennifer Pollack, an assistant professor of marine biology at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi who oversees the program, says you don't have to bring anything except closed toe shoes to protect your feet.Pollack says, "We'll have gloves, we'll have snacks, you'll have a free t-shirt that we'll give you, and just come out and join us."

The folks with the oyster shell recycling program at the Harte Research Institute could sure use your help this weekend, They're hold their second "Sink Your Shucks" oyster reef restoration event ...

Daytime turtle release!

UTMSI and the ARK are doing a sea turtle release this Saturday, April 16th @ 10 am that is open to the public, Marker 35 on Mustang Island Gulf Beach (~1-mile south of Gulf Access Rd #1, by the golf course bridge over HWY 361 in Port Aransas)
