Island Foundation Island Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that owns and operates Seashore Charter Schools.

These PUBLIC, open-enrollment schools serve more than 500 children from North Padre Island, Mustang Island, Flour Bluff, and NAS Corpus Christi.

A beautiful new addition to Seashore Learning Center— and an even more beautiful legacy behind it. 💙

Thanks to a generous donation made in memory of Carolyn H. Byrd, Seashore now has a new digital marquee that will serve our students, families, and community for years to come.

Carolyn Byrd was the first female Captain of the Corpus Christi Police Department — a fierce leader, trailblazer, and someone who deeply loved the children in her community. Though she had no children of her own, she cared for neighborhood children as if they were family.

Now, her legacy will continue shining brightly at Seashore Learning Center — sharing celebrations, announcements, opportunities, and memories with every family that passes by.

Thank you, Carolyn, for your service, your generosity, and your lasting impact on this community. Your light continues to lead the way. ✨

Seashore Learning Center will have an early release tomorrow at 11:40am!

Seashore Middle Academy will have a FULL school day tomorrow!

My twins already put in their requests 😂 — chocolate sprinkle pancakes for breakfast, plus steamers and balloons waiting for them when they wake up! 🥞✨🎈

Summer officially begins tomorrow and these babies are READY. 😭🩷

Due to current weather conditions, Seashore Schools will operate on a three-hour delayed start today, Wednesday, May 20.

Campus start times are as follows:
SECA: 10:30 a.m.
SLC: 10:40 a.m. (Drop off 10:30-10:40)
SMA: 10:55 a.m. (Drop off 10:30-10:55 a.m.)

The safety of our students, staff, and families remains our top priority. We will continue monitoring weather conditions closely and will provide updates as needed.

end of the school year for this fundraising lady like 😝

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for the encouragement, involvement, engagement, support, contributions, donations, hugs, high fives… all the things! 💛 I came in mid year and it’s been a riiiiiide!

I know we wouldn’t do any of it if we didn’t deeply care about our children and our community. 🫶🏼

Padre Island Village is special, and I am so glad my family and I get to be a part of it!
