ISL - Baja Mexico ISL: Serving the global community, one adventure at a time! The starting point for ISL’s Baja Program is Phoenix AZ, an easy flight from all major U.S. cities.

Volunteers meet with ISL staff in Phoenix and are escorted to Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, situated along the beautiful Sea of Cortez, a relaxing four hour drive through the scenic Sonoran Desert. As a trade-off for the initial drive, once we arrive at the program site, travel to and from activities is usually less than 15 minutes. ISL’s work in Baja Mexico is an on-going humanitarian project. We work

with global health agencies, local health ministries, and other NGOs to build capacity in needy communities. Because our work in Puerto Peñasco is continual, when an ISL team is scheduled for Baja, it is a “go” regardless of how many volunteers apply. Volunteers gain valuable experience regardless of team size, participating in community clinics and working in institutional and community health contexts. Volunteers are housed in an amazing beach house on the Sea of Cortez. ISL’s Baja Program offers a truly a unique low cost/high impact volunteer experience for teams and/or individuals!
