Today, at 5:25 a.m., Cody's Grandma peacefully passed away.

Some of my favorite memories are of watching the special bond she and Cody shared. When Cody was young, he would convince his Grandma to go outside and play baseball with him in the backyard. Those moments helped create a love for the game that would stay with him throughout his life.

Their love for baseball extended far beyond the backyard. Together, they would spend countless hours watching the Yankees or the Astros on TV, talking about the game they both loved. Whether it was a Major League game on television or one of Cody's games on the field, baseball was something they shared throughout their lives.

She was one of Cody's biggest supporters. She attended his Pony League games, his select baseball games, and never missed a high school game. Her love and dedication knew no limits. She traveled all across Texas and even crossed into New Mexico to watch Cody play college baseball. No matter where the game was, Grandma was there cheering him on.

One of the things she enjoyed most was watching Cody return to the game he loved as a coach for the Bishop High School Badgers baseball team. She was proud to see him mentor young athletes and continue sharing his passion for baseball. Just as she supported Cody throughout his playing career, she proudly supported the Badgers and enjoyed following their journey.

After battling cancer and other health challenges, she is finally free from pain and suffering. While our hearts are heavy today, we find comfort in knowing that she and Cody are together again.

I can only imagine the reunion that took place in Heaven—a grandmother embracing her grandson once more, sharing stories, laughter, and talking baseball just as they always did.

Rest in eternal peace, Grandma. Thank you for the love, sacrifices, and unwavering support you gave to Cody and to all who were blessed to know you. Your legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on in the countless memories you helped create.

❤️ Now reunited, Cody and his Grandma rest in eternal peace. No more pain, no more suffering—just everlasting love, baseball stories, and peace together once again.
