Some stories show that purpose isn’t born overnight - it’s nurtured through resilience, compassion, and the courage to keep moving forward. For Swana Heyward, it started at home in Ingleside, Texas, where she watched her parents’ determination inspire her own drive.

In high school, she did more than lead - she served. From National Honor Society president to varsity athlete, from wrap-gifts volunteer to seeing classmates struggle with mental health and saying that will be my calling.

Now, with acceptance at the University of Texas at Austin to study psychology and train to become a mental-health professional, she’s bridging generations — turning her parents’ sacrifices into hope for others.
