Parents matter more in player development than most people realize.

Long before the scholarships, rankings, highlights, and championships, there was a parent making sacrifices. Early mornings, late nights, travel expenses, encouragement after tough losses, and support when nobody else believed. A player’s journey is rarely traveled alone.

The best parents don’t try to control every outcome. They create an environment where effort is expected, character is valued, and growth is celebrated. They understand that development isn’t always a straight line. There will be setbacks, struggles, and challenges along the way.

Behind almost every successful athlete is a parent who invested time, energy, and love into their dream. Coaches teach the game. Players put in the work. Parents provide the foundation that makes it all possible. Never underestimate the impact of a supportive parent.

Our 15U Puma squad showed toughness all weekend in Oklahoma, finishing 2-2 against strong competition!! Every game was a fight, and this group never backed down, keeping every matchup competitive until the final buzzer and the losses within 10.

The growth, chemistry, and trust this team continues to build is special to watch. These boys play for each other, stay disciplined, and compete with confidence every time they step on the court.

Next stop: the UTSA Team Showcase Camp, where the squad will have the opportunity to compete in front of the college coaches and continue proving what they’re capable of🌊🏀

Caleb Black just hit a huge early milestone in the college recruiting process. 🔥

A Division 1 coach reached out directly to Caleb to let him know that he’s been added to their prospect watch list heading into the upcoming June evaluation period.

For a 2029 kid, that’s a BIG first step and a clear sign that the grind, discipline, and consistency are starting to get noticed.

If you know Caleb, then you know this isn’t luck.

Caleb is LOCKED IN.
Early morning basketball training before school.
School basketball workouts.
Travel basketball practices.
One-on-one basketball training sessions 3X a week.
Personal strength and weightlifting training 2X a week.

His work ethic is different, and the growth shows every single time he steps on the court.

Keep pushing, Caleb. PDB Elite is behind you all the way. 💯

Quick shoutout to Roman Garza after a strong weekend out in San Antonio. Roman was getting to it from all levels — knocking down mid-range shots, hitting from three, and attacking the basket with confidence.

What stands out even more than the buckets is his work ethic and maturity. Roman has been putting in the work at training, stays respectful, and is one of the few young players who truly holds himself accountable without being told. He’s always looking at what he could’ve done better, not just for himself, but for his team too.

Keep working, Roman. The growth is showing. 💪

I had a coach from another program reach out to me recently just trying to get some information. He’s got some great kids and was wanting to help get them more exposure on different levels.

And of course, I shared as much as I could.

Tournaments, websites, circuit information, pros and cons, opportunities, and ways to help the kids get seen more.

What really stuck with me was him saying how hard it had been to get people to actually share information and help point him in the right direction. He told me he appreciated how open and willing I was to help.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that sharing knowledge never takes anything away from you.

There’s enough room for everybody to grow.
Enough opportunities for kids to succeed.
Enough success for programs, trainers, and coaches.

I’ve never believed in holding information close just to feel ahead of someone else. If I know something that can help another coach, another parent, another player, or another program, I’m willing to share it.

Because at the end of the day, if we’re all truly doing this for the kids, then helping each other only makes the basketball community stronger.

One thing about our program — we’re going to keep learning, keep growing, and keep helping people along the way.

No ego. No gatekeeping. Just growth. 💯
