Today in history: U.S. helicopters fly 18th Division troops to positions south of An Loc to replace the 9th Division troops.

According to retired Lieutenant Colonel James H. Willbanks, "The Battle of An Loc was one of the most important battles of the Vietnam War. It took place during the 1972 North Vietnamese Spring Offensive, after most U.S. combat troops had departed South Vietnam. The battle, which lasted over two months, resulted in the virtual destruction of three North Vietnamese divisions and blocked a Communist attack on Saigon. The sustained intensity of combat during this battle had not been previously seen in the Vietnam War."

While the U.S. had passed its peak involvement in the war, An Loc showed the benefit of Spec Ops and Forces training and advisitng ARVN, a crucial element in the South Vietnamese's success.

We're back! Life has been lived. Work done. New seas chartered.
.. and a few things are going to change around here. We are still recording oral histories and are slotted to work at a few events this fall. Here's a run down of what's new.

First: As soon as Naval Spec Warfare releases every single we've created from its detailed security clearance review process, we will begin releasing and sharing our vet's stories in bulk. Stay tuned!

What's new: We're widening our point of view to include all three forces under what is called "Zumwaldt's Trident," the combined forces of U.S. , the , and . We will also share information on the various new mental health resources available to vets with , TBI, etc., especially the discipline of Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET).

What's next: More history. Really, what else could you ask for? (Aside from program updates, new research partnerships, the latest oral histories from the past year and how Green Faces will be dipping its green toes into promising PTSD treatments like NET.)

Repost: The Pritzker Military Museum & Library is honored to host our upcoming exhibit Tet and the Battle of Hue, from May 16 to October 2, 2023. Created by Tactile Images, and Stars and Stripes photographer John Olson, the exhibit features 10 tactile, or 3-dimensional, images created from original photographs.
