It's summer now. Warm and humid. Christmas isn't likely to be forefront on your mind. It likely wouldn't be for me either, but for a text I got today.

He was a Guest of Honor at last December's Christmas Dinner For Homeless Veterans. Today it is official. He's got his own place.

This year will be our 14th year. It takes about $10,000 each year to rent the venue, rent the busses, get the backpacks, dog tags, challenge coins and other supplies.

As of today, we've raised $200.

But we know from experience, this event happens each year because we have faith, hope and confidence.

Welcome home...

That phrase hits a little different for me today. And for those of you who've been a part of this labor of love, I bet seeing this image means it hits a little different for you too.

Thank you all so much!

We're doing OK so far with supplies this year, but it's been our most difficult year financially. We're still looking for help with the costs of two major overhead items, the Venue Rental Fee and Bus Transportation. If you or your company is able to help, we would surely appreciate it. Thank you!
(This thank you note from a previous Guest of Honor illustrates what this event means to them)
