The Republic of Vietnam Historical Society was founded in 2005 with the purpose to preserve the memory of the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) and the men and women whose lives became intertwined with its legacy. This organization aims to achieve this through the collection and archiving of artifacts pertaining to the government and military of the Republic of Vietnam, accumulation of the perso
nal histories of individuals who served its cause and their families, and providing a venue for education and discussion. RVNHS is a registered non-profit historical group, and is not associated with any political activities or parties. We are based in California, USA, and are open to anyone interested in learning about and preserving the memory of the Republic of Vietnam. RVNHS is affiliated with The Museum of History of the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces located in Westminster, California. The museum is a one of a kind opportunity to experience and learn about the rich history of the Republic of Vietnam right in the heart of the largest Vietnamese diaspora in the world - Little Saigon in Orange County. Many items from the RVNHS Archive are on display at the museum. The museum is located at 9842 Bolsa Ave, Westminster, CA, 92683, United States. The RVNHS Virtual Museum features some of the original items in the society's collection, which may not be currently on display at the physical museum. The pieces featured are just a small portion of the total material housed. Each item is scrutinized for autheniticy and has come from reliable sources, including veterans, descendants of veterans, and the collections of other museums. The collection is constantly growing, and more items are continually being posted via the RVNHS page and blog, so please check back often.
