Despite the weather, the Cornwall Cornwall NY Garden Club came out to tour the Sands Ring Homestead and learn about the medicinal plants and herbs that were used during colonial times.
Special thanks to the Friends of Sands Ring and Trustees for the informative tour. It is remarkable how the descendants lived off the land with such efficiency. The first store in Cornwall started right here!!

Arbor Day 2026 The Cornwall Garden Club has planted a River Birch Tree next to the site of the Black Willow, which was recently removed due to safety concerns. The club would like to thank Chair Beth Nedwedsky for organizing this event at Donohue Park. Barbara Burnham and Kathleen Christensen provided a historical perspective on Arbor Day and shared poetry to celebrate the importance of trees. The club appreciates the guidance and support of Village Mayor James Kane. Trustee Lori Beth Ginda-Paliotta took the time to participate in the event. The club would also like to thank the Village DPW and honorary member Eugene Randazzo for providing the tree and preparing the site. Happy Arbor Day!!
