The James Biever Police-Community Alliance

The James Biever Police-Community Alliance Our Founder

Retired Corporal James "Jim" Biever was a dedicated Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Officer for 25 years.

Our Mission: To form a cohesive bond and promote unity, empathy, support, and accountability among the police and their citizens through scholarship, continuing education and community relations. He served the PSP with pride, honor and integrity, inspiring many that he crossed paths with. Jim understood the value that policing had in its communities, and believed wholeheartedly in the work of stat

e and local police officers. In May of 2020, Jim was diagnosed with Stage IV Cancer and given a more limited timeframe on his life than he anticipated. With this time, he had hoped to begin a foundation that supported a police and community alliance in Lebanon County, especially in a time that desperately called for unity and trust. He began the discussion with his friends and family, but shortly after, his illness worsened. Realizing that his prognosis was short, he worked fast to create a facet of what he had envisioned part of his foundation to carry out- The Biever Family Police Scholarship Fund- in the hopes of aiding Lebanon County Police Departments and the cadets who are receiving training through the Municipal Police Officers’ Education and Training Commission (MPOETC). Jim passed away on August 12th, 2020, but was able to see his vision come to fruition as the plans were finalized days prior to his death. Today, it is with pride and honor that we carry out Jim's legacy and work.

What a great opportunity for positive police-community interaction! Events like this help build trust and create meaningful connections between officers and local youth. And of course, the tasty treat is a pretty great bonus too! 🍦😊

Cleona Borough Police Department hosted an "Ice Cream With Cops" event Wednesday for around 300 Cleona Elementary School students, offering ice cream and a chance to interact with officers.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their courage, service, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, let us pause to remember the heroes who gave their all so we could live free. May we carry their legacy with gratitude, respect, and pride. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) of Lebanon County is grateful to receive an $11,847 grant from the United Way of Lebanon County to support the mental health and wellness of our first responders.

This funding will help expand access to peer support, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care for police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and 911 operators who face traumatic and high-stress situations every day while serving our community.

Thank you to the United Way of Lebanon County for investing in the mental wellness of those who protect and serve our community every day. πŸ’™

Millcreek Township Police Chief Brian Hostetter is retiring this month after more than 13 years as chief and more than 26 years serving the eastern Lebanon County township.

Thank you for your dedication and service to the community, Chief Hostetter. Enjoy your well-earned retirement!
