Lions KidSight USA organizes Vision Screenings for Children between 6-months & 6-Years old to end Amblyopia by using high tech screening tools.

August is Children's Eye Health and Safety Month as well as National Eye Exam Month. Lions, let's step up to the plate and do a vision screening and help kids get eye exams.

Happy New Year! Here are the CA1 KidSight vision screening totals from July 1, 2025 to January 8, 2026. As you can see only 25 MDs and Single Districts have been reporting. (Single Districts are listed as undistricted). SO THESE NUMBERS REPRESENT ABOUT 50% OF WHAT IS REALLY BEING DONE!

TOTAL REFERRED 101,020 PERCENT REFERRED 15.55%

Some of the areas that are reporting to the KidSight database are obviously severely under reporting. Some MDs just seem to not want to report at all. It is not hard. I reported a screening we did today with just over 100 kids of 4 different age groups and 20 referrals. It took me about 10 minutes. Reporting to the KS database is not the same as reporting to the Lions Portal. You need to do both. If your area wants to have the work the Lions are doing recognized let me know and I can credential you to enter data. Contact me at [email protected].

Hi All, Here is the year-to-date vision screening report for CA1. FYI the "undistricted" category includes single districts. As you can see there are a significant number of areas not reporting. If you are having trouble reporting, please contact me so I can help. Remember reporting to the Lions KidSight database is not the same as reporting on the Lions Portal. BOTH MUST BE DONE. The KidSight database records OUTCOMES not just events. LCI and LCIF are committed to documenting the outcomes of our service efforts. As we approach the end of the Lions' year please update your data.

Lions KidSight USA is awarded the “Champion for Vision Award” by the Children’s Eye Foundation of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS). This recognition is a tribute to the great work each of you has done to advance the mission of children’s vision screening. Over the years Lions have averaged about 2 million children screened per year with an average of 15% referral rate. Your efforts have made a huge difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of children. As Chairman of Lions KidSight USA, I thank you for the support you have shown for this program and our mission. It is my honor to be the chair of this great team and accept this recognition.
