The City of Corning Police Department is actively seeking qualified lateral transfer Police Officers.
With the recent settlement of a 5-year contract between the Crystal City Police Benevolent Association (PBA) and the City of Corning, the Crystal City PBA is encouraging qualified Police Officers to join our team. Eligible lateral transfer applicants may be granted service credit in accordance with their prior police experience.

Benefits of joining CPD include:

·Competitive salary increases over the next 5 years

·Top step Patrolman pay in the final year of current contract being $104,194

·20-year retirement plan with 1/60th percent additional after 20 years

·Health insurance upon retirement

·Up to 4 weeks vacation per year

Crystal City Police Benevolent Association Announces New Contract with City of Corning.

The Crystal City Police Benevolent Association (PBA) is pleased to announce the successful settlement of a new contractual agreement with the City of Corning. The agreement is effective October 1, 2025, and will remain in place through December 31, 2030.

This long-term agreement reflects the shared commitment of the PBA and the City to ensuring the safety of our community while supporting the dedicated officers who serve it. It provides stability, fairness, and a continued foundation for strong labor relations moving forward.

The Crystal City PBA would like to extend its sincere appreciation to City Manager Mark Ryckman, Mayor Bill Boland and the City Council for their professionalism, leadership, and collaborative approach throughout the negotiation process. Their efforts helped ensure a positive outcome for all parties involved.

JOIN THE CORNING POLICE DEPARTMENT

The Steuben County Department of Personnel has announced the civil service exam for Police Officer, qualified candidates are encouraged to take the first step in starting their law enforcement career. The application must be filed with the Steuben County Department of Personnel and Civil Service by August 6, 2025 with an exam date of September 20, 2025

The list of eligible candidates generated by this exam will be used to fill vacancies at the Corning Police Department, providing a chance to join a dedicated team of law enforcement professionals.
