🥚🌎 Happy World Egg Day!

Did you know World Egg Day began in Vienna in 1996? Since then, it has been celebrated every year on the second Friday in October as a worldwide celebration of one of the most versatile and nutrient-rich foods around. World Egg Organization

Here are a few egg-cellent facts:
🥚 Eggs provide high-quality protein along with important vitamins and nutrients.
💛 One large egg contains roughly 147 mg of choline, an important nutrient for the body.
🤎 Brown or white? Shell color doesn’t significantly change an egg’s nutritional value—the color simply depends on the breed of the hen.
🐔 And here’s a fun one: eggs were around millions of years before chickens!

🎉 347,510 pounds of food given away — year to date!

That number represents more than pounds of food. It represents families supported, neighbors cared for, and communities coming together to make a real difference.

Because of the generosity of our donors, volunteers, partners, and supporters, North Valley Community Food Bank has been able to distribute 347,510 lbs of food so far this year to help serve families throughout Colusa, Glenn, and Tehama Counties.
Every donation. Every volunteer hour. Every box packed. Every mile driven. It all adds up. 💚

Together, we’re nourishing families, strengthening communities, and creating brighter tomorrows.

🌿🫒 Pastor James' No Cook Thursday is back! 🫒🌿
With a high of 88° today, it's still warm enough to keep the kitchen cool and enjoy another fresh, flavorful meal!
Since we're blessed to live in Corning, California—home to some of the finest olives around—we're celebrating one of our local favorites with this week's recipe:

🥗 Mediterranean Pasta Salad

This colorful dish is packed with fresh vegetables, savory olives, creamy feta cheese, and simple ingredients that come together in just 10 minutes. It's perfect for lunch, dinner, potlucks, or meal prep!

🛒 What You'll Need:
🍝 Cooked and cooled pasta
🍅 Cherry tomatoes
🥒 Diced cucumber
🧅 Red onion
🫒 Kalamata or green olives
🧀 Crumbled feta cheese
🫒 Olive oil & fresh lemon juice
🌿 Italian seasoning, salt & pepper
Simply toss everything together, chill if you'd like, and enjoy a refreshing meal full of fresh Mediterranean flavors!

🍂🍗 Pastor James' Thursday Family Meal is here! 🍗🍂
The weather is cooling down a bit, and with a high of 78° today, it's the perfect excuse to turn the oven back on!
This week's featured recipe is Garlic Parmesan Chicken & Potatoes—a simple, one-pan meal that's packed with flavor, easy on the budget, and perfect for bringing the family together around the dinner table.

🛒 What You'll Need:
🍗 Chicken thighs or drumsticks
🥔 Baby potatoes
🫒 Olive oil
🧄 Garlic powder
🧀 Parmesan cheese
🌿 Italian seasoning
🧂 Salt & pepper
🌱 Fresh parsley (optional)

👨‍🍳 How to Make:
Preheat your oven to 400°F.
Toss the potatoes with olive oil and seasonings.
Arrange the chicken and potatoes on a baking sheet.
Sprinkle generously with Parmesan cheese.
Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the chicken reaches 165°F.
