STAQ is thrilled to welcome Assistant Coach Ryan McNutt to the team. Ryan grew up swimming competitively with the Corning-Painted Post High School and River Rats Swim Club. He is a seven-time Section IV Champion, a New York State Champion in the 100 freestyle, and part of the 200 freestyle relay team that set the New York State Public High School record.
Ryan continued his swimming career at Penn State University as a sprint freestyler, competing in the 100 and 200 freestyle events at the Big Ten Championships and serving as a team captain. Ryan’s experiences in both high school and collegiate swimming have given him a deep appreciation for the positive impact coaches have on athletes’ development inside and outside the pool.
Ryan is excited to return as a coach with STAQ, aiming to help swimmers improve their technique, build confidence, and enjoy becoming better athletes. Outside of swimming, he works as a Civil Engineer at LaBella Associates and enjoys running, strength training, reading, and spending time outdoors.
