247 years ago, on July 4th, 1776, the Continental Congress authorized and printed the final draft of the US Declaration of Independence (although it was not formally ratified until August 2nd 1776) declaring independence from the nation of Great Britain.
Even before that, though, men from all walks of life including farmers, blacksmiths, plantation owners, and store and tavern owners were already fighting the British, serving in local militias and organized armies.
The Continental Army was formed on June 14, 1775 and the Marine Corps November 10th of that same year.
For almost 250 years then the US military has been serving the United States and defending their interests at home and abroad.
If you are a veteran or currently serving member of the Armed Forces in need of any kind of support, assistance, or connection to resources, please reach out on my work phone, on Facebook messenger to this page, or via email.

I am the Veterans Advocate and Veteran Directed Care Specialist at AIM Independent Living Center, employed through a grant from the VA of the Finger Lakes. While this page *is not* directly affiliated with these organizations, I am using it to provide and disseminate the same information regarding resources that I do through my position at AIM.
You can call me at my work number provided or email to be connected with a variety of resources including housing, groceries, the Veteran Directed Care program, and other valuable resources.
I will post to this page information about these resources.
