To retrofit our Cordova AMHS dock for Alaska Class Ferries, ADOT/PF is conducting some geotechnical drilling work in mid-January. More information about this project, and work being done in Chenega and Tatitlek, is here:

Attention !

🛳 Starting January 17th and through the 24th, a geotechnical crew will be at the Cordova Ferry Terminal. The original drilling planned for October was delayed.

⚠️ WHAT’S HAPPENING?

✅ Crews will begin preliminary geotechnical work during this time. PND and ONYX will perform geotechnical drilling and soil sample collection.

✅ Work is anticipated to be performed over a one-week period (Jan. 17–24).

✅ No impacts to AMHS service.

🌊 WHY WE’RE DOING THIS

Geotechnical data is needed to inform the design for the foundation piles as part of the proposed ferry terminal improvements.
