Sahel Revival

Sahel Revival aims to help communities meet short and long term water and hygiene needs, while empowering them to reach their food production goals.

We currently are working in Mauritania, with semi-urban and rural communities to identify their long and short term water needs. We work in the Sahel region because 300 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa lack access to clean water. 800.000 children die each year in Sub-Saharan Africa due to water related illnesses. That's One child every 20 seconds. It is our belief that by providing more access to free clean water to these communities we can have a positive impact on their lives: for water is essential to life, health, peace, security, social and economic development. Sahel Revival helps bring hope and relief by working closely with communities to identify the need, mobilize support, and create the project with our implementing partners. Our activities revolve around water: rehabilitation of existing access points, drilling new wells, distribution of water filters, installation of water tanks and irrigation systems. We strive to positively impact the communities we serve by being a vehicle to universal access to free clean water to every person in the Sahel.
