Blood:water mission~WATER:WALKing in Memphis

Blood:water mission~WATER:WALKing in Memphis Memphis,TN...my name is Richard McClure. I'm an Advocate for BLOOD:WATER MISSION to Raise Awareness for the WATER CRISES in AFRICA! We can make a difference.

I am a local Missionary and an Advocate/Community:Builder for BLOOD:WATER MISSION, founded by JARS of CLAY, along with Jena Nardella, out of Nashville, almost 10 yrs ago. This is being held in honor of all the many hundreds of millions of people, especially, the young children, who are subjected out of necessity to walk distances of 3-30 miles to get water...dirty, polluted, diseased water... for th

eir villages. Yes, dirty water to drink, bathe and even have their food cooked in. These events are being organized to engage and galvanize the Greater Memphis Area in a series of symbolic events/fundraisers to draw attention to the sacrifices being made, daily, in Africa. BLOOD:WATER MISSION

From Dallas to Chicago, Phoenix to Nashville, Blood:Water supporters have had the opportunity to walk a mile in someone else's shoes. These "Water Walks" have offered advocates an invitation to take part in a one mile and back walk to collect water in their own cities. These walks are based on the recognition that every day, thousands of young Africans must hike miles a day just for access to water. Furthermore, children whose daily chore is to collect water, are often left with no time to attend school. On top of the heavy loads and certain risk of illness from drinking contaminated water, it is estimated that over 40 billion work and school hours are lost every year in Africa to the act of fetching clean drinking water. By joining in solidarity with people in Africa, walking the distance to your nearest natural water source (like a pond or stream) and bringing water back, you can walk for water so someone in Africa doesn't have to. However small this gesture may be, for many it has been a galvanizing and implicating experience, bringing our understanding of our neighbor one mile closer and our love, perhaps, one mile stronger. "I haven't been able to stop thinking about yesterday. My son and I shared an experience together that was so deeply memorable and significant that I have had trouble getting my head in the game today." - Matt B., Grand Rapids, MI

WATER IS LIFE. Without clean water, DIGNITY, HOPE and a FUTURE are all too often LOST. I HOPE that you will JOIN ME...bring your kids, I will have mine join me; bring their friends, classmates, teachers, coaches, pastors and youth groups. This will be a wonderful and engaging LIFE moment that will show 'today's youth~tomorrow's leaders' that we ALL need to SERVE.GIVE.LOVE...one another.THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST,SUPPORT and CONSIDERATION.

UPDATES:

This afternoon I have a unique opportunity scheduled. I will be meeting with a local Energy company to discuss how to 'harness wind energy to power wells' in Africa. As the infrastructure builds on the African landscape, it is exciting to consider the potential.
