🌟 School Spotlight: All Saints Classical Lutheran School | Jonesboro, Arkansas 🌟

Greetings in the name of our great God! This month, the Mid-South District is proud to shine a spotlight on All Saints Classical Lutheran School in Jonesboro, Arkansas!

All Saints is a classical Lutheran school where students grow in wisdom and virtue, grounded in God’s Word. Scholars study Latin, mathematics, classic literature, and music, and begin their day with daily chapel and Scripture.
All Saints Classical Lutheran School was established in 2021 as a ministry of All Saints Lutheran Church, which has served the Jonesboro community since 1958 and has gathered at 1812 Rains Street since 1963.

All Saints is led by Headmaster The Rev. Fr. Jerome Leckband, who also serves as associate pastor and as the primary teacher for the Lower School.
All Saints is dually accredited by the Consortium for Classical Lutheran Education and National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA).

Join the Mid-South District for Oktoberfest! The special celebration is coming up Saturday, October 24 from 11 AM-3 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Memphis. The day of German-inspired fun will feature delicious food and b**r, an Oompah band, an Oktoberfest costume contest, children's activities and more—including commemorative T-shirts! It's all part of the District's 60th anniversary celebration. Don't miss it!

Thank you, Pastors!
Today we give thanks to God for the faithful pastors serving throughout the Mid-South District.

Week after week, our pastors proclaim Christ crucified and risen, administer His holy Sacraments, and care for souls at hospital bedsides, gravesides, baptismal fonts, and kitchen tables. They pray for us, teach our children, and point us again and again to the forgiveness and life we have in Jesus.

“We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:12–13

Pastors, thank you for your faithfulness to the Word and your love for God’s people. You are a gift to the Church!

After months of planning, everything was ready for the 2026 Mid-South & Southern Districts Educators' Conference in Shalimar, Florida. But Hurricane Isaias had other plans.

With the hurricane bearing down on the Gulf Coast, the conference had to be canceled. We are deeply grateful that all of our teachers and presenters are safely out of harm's way, and we thank everyone who was planning to attend and present. Your preparation and enthusiasm did not go unnoticed.

Please join us in praying for all those in the path of the storm.

The good news? Salt & Light: The Do-Over is coming October 2027!

Today, we celebrate National LWML Sunday! On this special day, LCMS congregations are invited to celebrate and give thanks for the impactful work of the Lutheran Women in Mission. The focus for LWML Sunday 2026 is "Supporting Missions," which comes directly from the LWML Mission Statement:

"As Lutheran Women in Mission, we joyfully proclaim Christ, support missions, and equip women to honor God by serving others."

St. Matthew Lutheran Church (Conway, AR) dedicated new stained glass window in its chancel. It weaves together several sacramental and trinitarian symbols and fills the nave with beautiful color and light. Designed by St. Matthew member, Scott Roper, and created by Soos Glass of Maumelle, AR.
