OPEN PART-TIME POSITION!

The Kennel Technician is responsible for the daily care, health, and well-being of animals housed at the Elk City Animal Shelter. Key duties include:

-Feeding and providing fresh water to animals.
-Cleaning and sanitizing kennels, cages, bedding, food bowls, and common animal areas.
-Monitoring animals for signs of illness, injury, stress, or unusual behavior and reporting concerns to the supervisor.
-Exercising, socializing, and providing enrichment activities for animals to support their physical and emotional health.
-Assisting with animal intake, treatments, grooming, and transportation when needed.
-Maintaining accurate records of feeding, medications, behavior observations, and daily care.
-Helping potential adopters interact safely with animals and providing basic information about animal behavior and care.
-Following shelter safety, sanitation, and animal-handling procedures to ensure a healthy environment for animals, staff, and visitors.

Skills Needed: Compassion for animals, attention to detail, physical stamina, reliability, teamwork, and the ability to safely handle animals of various sizes and temperaments.

Must be 18 or older to apply.
